i will never see you again

It's been a long time since this Cannes Film Festival winning film. I haven't watched it since I bought it, maybe I want to adjust the mood that I can watch the classics.

After watching it, I was a little disappointed, not as good as I imagined.

Especially not as "In the Name of Father", which is also set in the IRA.

Maybe the director wants to emphasize "neutrality" too much and avoid emotional input.

What is more shocking is the sentence "I will never see you again!", from different people, targeting two dead, one a traitor and the other a revolutionary martyr. But the emotion is the same.

If there is no dark organization and attack, what national independence is played? Ireland is lucky and meets Britain, and the family is ruined. Inner fighting is inferior. If you want to follow the path to fight against Leviathan, the intensity may increase by a multiplier.

@小西天. Four and a half stars. 1. It is said that when Wong Kar-wai was the chairman of the jury that year, he didn't even look down on the main competition film, and finally decided to support the wind and the wheat wave out of respect for his predecessors. 2. There really doesn't seem to be anything new about Ken Lodge, but his old-school stern precision itself is the style that best fits the story. 3. But I still see something interesting. The story contains a lot of "unfinished" accidents: the first half of the black and brown army did not complete the name, the first operation of the Republican army failed to detonate the bomb, the rescue operation left a cell that could not be opened, leaving three companions, etc. The list goes on and on. All small unfinished accidents point to the "unfinished" inevitability of resistance and revolution. 4. The original soundtrack is excellent, but Ken Rocky doesn't bother to use it for sensationalism at all. This is called advanced.
