This is not an inspirational story of one person

To be honest, the movie itself is nothing special. Youth, inspiration, main theme, an old-fashioned story of suffering from bad luck and getting back up again.
What really makes people think is actually behind this "true" story, what kind of force made this girl who lost an arm stand back on the skateboard?
This is not an inspirational story of a person, this is an inspirational story of a community, a city, a country, the confidence and mutual assistance, values and beliefs permeated in the film are like paradise (put aside the moisture in it for now).
In contrast to our own homeland, the loss of faith, the loss of moral bottom line, and the loss of social trust, form a sharp contrast.
So, it's not that the film is very well made, it's just that the contrast is too strong, so I feel the deepest.

I'd be scared to wear a short sleeve with a broken arm

No resistance to inspirational films, AnnaSophia is the bubblegum girl in Charlie's Chocolate Factory! Growing up~ Although the whole inspirational process developed a bit too quickly, and the background introduction took more than half an hour, I couldn't cry when the protagonist himself appeared in the end. I heard that it’s hard to walk and stand firmly without an arm, let alone continue the dream of surfing

Soul Surfer quotes

  • Bethany Hamilton: I thought... I thought at least with clothes on, I could have two arms. That I could look normal.

Cheri Hamilton: Normal is so overrated.

Bethany Hamilton: But people like normal mom.

    Cheri Hamilton: Who?

    Bethany Hamilton: Guys do.

Cheri Hamilton: [takes a deep breath]

Bethany Hamilton: I mean who would even like me with this.

Cheri Hamilton: The right guy will love you, exactly the way you are. Because you're beautiful.

Bethany Hamilton: How do you know?

    Cheri Hamilton: Because I know.

  • [first lines, narrating]

Bethany Hamilton: I was born in Hawaii to two die-hard surfers. How could I not have salt water in my veins. They say home is where the heart is, and for most people that consists of four walls and a welcome mat. But for me, it's the ocean, with the warmth of the sun on my skin. Two brothers, that's my answer when anyone asks why I'm so competitive. And of course, there's my best friend Alana. We spent more time wet than we did dry, my mom was convinced that we were mermaids. From the moment I caught my first wave, I knew I wanted to be a Pro Surfer. Nothing else seemed to matter. Surfing is my passion, my way of life. The stoke I get from riding a perfect wave is pure joy. But like my dad always says, life is an adventure. And sometimes you wipe out and end up in the impact zone.
