Heroic Elegy

Q Once I was watching a movie, I caught a glimpse of a street scene and thought to myself: Good literature and art, nine times out of ten it is a good movie. Take a second look and ask if he is "alive"? He said yes. It's easy to tell the good or bad of this kind of literary film, and many of the pictures are still photographic pictures. But non-literary films are different. I can't tell whether it is good or bad from a certain picture. It is fluid, and I can only make an evaluation after seeing the plot.

On the other hand, I am most afraid of using my brain, and I am too lazy to think about superfluous things when watching a movie. In a movie, if the telling of the story is intuitive (that is, without thinking), and there are no logical loopholes that can be seen without thinking, then I am willing to accept the story; and then feel what the story has to say. My point was that if the story doesn't make sense in the first place, it shouldn't be a good movie. It's hard for me to imagine such an evaluation: third-rate script, first-rate director and actors.

But "Blood" helped me establish a new perspective: Good movies can have unconscionable stories.

When I first watched it, it was regarded as the most ordinary Hong Kong film, because the beginning was a bit abrupt and the picture was ordinary; I was shocked when I saw Chow Yun-fat sitting alone by the riverside with the music playing, and I was shocked: such a full-fledged film, it should be worthy of the highest evaluation. The more I went on, the more I felt that I didn't expect nothing in vain: it turns out that a good director and a good actor can actually interpret such an unreasonable story and a slightly unreasonable role in such a freehand and satisfactory performance. Although Chow Yun-fat is calm, unrestrained, and full of heroic spirit; the story of the film is also like flowing clouds and flowing water, which is very beautiful. The whole film is very rhythmic, not in a hurry, but full of strength; just like Chow Yun-fat, always with a warm smile in the blood and rain, lifting weights lightly.
It is rare to praise Li Xiuxian again for not falling behind with Chow Yun-fat.
Although the beginning was abrupt, the ending ended very quickly, balancing the beginning.

Which famous person said that it is best to read novels after adulthood, because when I was young, I couldn't understand the imitation of society in the book, which is a pity for the classics. I checked the aftermath of the "Blood Two Heroes", and most of them are mixed with the taste of nostalgic youth feelings of the past. Before I graduated from college, I seldom watched movies and TV. Now I watch this classic film for the first time, without nostalgia, but also lamenting the era of heroes.
