At the beginning of the film, Rachael's son accuses Rachael of the little girl who was the whistleblower.
This detail strikes me as a reflection of the film's main theme: don't be a whistleblower.
This idea continues right up to the moment before the end of the film.
Before that, I thought Rachael, the film's protagonist, was a bit like Erin Brockovich (Julia Roberts) in Never Compromise.
But when the truth is revealed at the end, the film suddenly shifts the protagonist Rachael from being a journalist with professional ethics to a great mother. That's the truth of the movie. But as Rachael
's defense attorney Albert said: "To great people, it's no difference between principle and the person."
There is no contradiction between the principles that morality should adhere to and the mother as an ordinary person.

Your source is in a great deal of trouble.

Dubois: [Overrides her] I'm doing the yadda-yadda, remember?

  • Dubois: People are inherently decent, I have found.

Rachel Armstrong: If that were true that would put you out of a job, no?
