I watched it in 2017 and watched it twice. I really think the perspective and plot coherence and rhythm of this movie are amazing. Basically you can't stop watching. The last time I felt this way was the first season of psycho pass and bones' superman fantasy and steel fa.
But since I've started revisiting it recently, the more I think about it, the more I get angrier. The male protagonist saved the female protagonist, made friends with her, took her to see the Christmas tree, and kept her away from domestic violence. You, a star writer, should at least write her and the male protagonist together in the ending. (Emm though the jk before the male protagonist is still pretty good-looking) at least make an open ending
(starting from yy) Can't the heroine come to visit every month from other cities when the hero is asleep. Then one day the male protagonist suddenly woke up and found that there was a familiar and unfamiliar beauty (the female protagonist) in front of him, with long hair fluttering, taking care of himself. Then recognize each other. Then deal with the teacher. In the end, the female lead pushed the male lead in a wheelchair to the place where they looked at the stars and the Christmas tree. It was spring in April, and the Christmas tree was actually a cherry tree. Under the flying cherry blossoms, the two looked at the galaxy. Then the plot ends.
Of course, it's all just brainstorming. Before the "re-release", the male and female protagonists were just classmates. Maybe no matter how it changes, the world line between him and her will still shrink. The male protagonist just brought the female protagonist back to life on the right track, and the subsequent love can only be determined by life. The male protagonist has been sleeping for so many years, and he will definitely not be able to enter the female protagonist's life. The two can only be grateful, but they can't be affectionate. The male protagonist's own purpose is to save his mother, and this experience is just a less bland episode in life. The river of life will continue, we may have the same origin, but the mountain road of life is rugged, and gradually separated, each has its own path, each has its own destination, and each has its own happiness.
ps: There is a song "you are my friend" which is very nice in bgm---we are friends, but only friends
