Moderate anger is power, excessive anger is just anger

The first person to eat crabs is brave and lucky, and the first person/group to get some kind of disease is a nightmare and hell. The torture of illness, the fear of the unknown, the anger at the indifference of government agencies, and the helplessness of being marginalized by society devour every AIDS patient and his lover (their family members are not shown in the film).

The film spends a lot of time depicting Ned's anger in different scenes, but no matter which one, they all feel the same. Moderate anger is good, it shows that you are concerned about something and want to do something, but excessive anger can make people lose their minds, and even achieve their own goals in the name of anger.

The perspective of the film is not enough, basically they are writing about their own group, and the performance of others is only a little bit, and many of them are described or sidelined. And when I look back now, I can't think of what the Gay Health Crisis Committee has done other than answering the phone, what is the attitude of the government, has it not changed at all along the way?

They are all ordinary people, no different from you and me, but they just happen to be not heterosexual.

Peacock is really the biggest gay vase in Hollywood. Even if he loses 40 pounds, he is still beautiful and his eyes are blank. The Hulk's performance is more like a gay than his real gay. But the Hulk is really a good but ugly typical, an Indian-style appearance.

The Normal Heart quotes

  • Ned Weeks: [to his brother Ben] I am FURIOUS with you! And every goddamn doctor who made me think I was sick to love a man!

  • Tommy Boatwright: You know, I'm very interested in starting some sort of service for the patients. We've got to start talking about them. Also, there are a lot of very scared people out there, and they're desperate for information. I'd like to start a hotline.

Bruce Niles: [to the guy sitting on his left] Who's he?

Tommy Boatwright: Ew! He does not know who I am yet! HE is Tommy Boatwright. In real life, HE is a hospital administrator. He's here to help. And he's a southern bitch!

    Bruce Niles: Bruce Niles.

Tommy Boatwright: Nice to meet you.

    Bruce Niles: My pleasure.

    Tommy Boatwright: You're very handsome.

    Mickey Marcus: He knows.
