Everything is fake.

"I'll take you away, escape this cold, empty, decorated world. Come with me, please, don't be afraid."

A movie that seems to be messy and disorderly is really just because it is messy and disorderly to make it fit the content of the movie.

Human memory is easily blurred and confused.

The hustle and bustle of the people around is the quietest for the two lonely people. The director's way of handling it is good.

The creation of such a world, I think, stems from the husband's indifference to it and the use of a woman's identity. So the surrounding beauty has nothing to do with the heroine.

The encounter between two people is like going around in a labyrinth. In the real world, there are people around, and you can meet the right person at any time. But not so. Looking for another person, as the film says, "Climb over wall after wall and open door after door".

And the most interesting part of this film is not this, but the memory changes again and again. Sometimes love may not be so noble. "It's not violence," the male protagonist has always emphasized, and he hopes that the female protagonist will follow him voluntarily, not forced.

It is not so much a love movie as it is the confusion and obscenity of a person's memory.

My favorite work by Alain Resnais. The ultimate in glamour and sophistication.

Seriously slept. A conversational tutorial in the form of a film, anti-narrative, anti-drama, and anti-performance, using sophisticated and complicated language to describe stupid and meaningless things, teaching you how to say hello, goodbye and let's eat chicken in a movie way .

Last Year at Marienbad quotes

  • X: I must have you alive. Alive, as you have already been every evening, for weeks, for months.

A: I have never stayed so long anywhere.

X: Yes, I know. I don't care. For days and days. Why don't you still want to remember anything?

A: You're raving! I'm tired, leave me alone!

  • X: [Last Lines] The grounds of the hotel were symmetrically arranged, without trees or flowers, or plants of any kind. The gravel, the stone, and the marble were spread in strict array in unmysterious shapes. At first sight, it seemed impossible to lose your way. At first sight... Along these stone paths and amidst these statues, where you were already losing your way forever in the still night, alone with me.
