A person is very important, and human society is composed of everyone; a person is not important, and the human society will continue to thrive without anyone. So, you're not trying to be a better version of yourself, you're just trying to be a better version of yourself, and that's all you can do.
Life is actually like a tree. It grows from a seed and grows gradually through past experiences. If you ask yourself to be a different kind of tree, if you always ask yourself to achieve a height beyond the present, you are murdering yourself.
So my persistent years were able to sway forever for the rest of my life, and even now, of course, I still need to bear the suffering left by this swaying.
