Facts have proved that even the old stalk of a prince and a commoner can be photographed fresh and refined.

I have to say, Netflix's vision in filming youth dramas is vicious...

Recently, I watched two European Netflix self-produced dramas, "Famous School Storm 4" and "Youth Royal Family". If Famous School 4 is full of Iberian enthusiasm and unrestrained character, then the youthful royal family must be full of Nordic peculiar subtlety.

To be honest, the love story of a prince and a commoner is all too common for a movie fan. Since we were children, we have watched over and over again the romantic and touching love stories between princes from different countries and girls from ordinary backgrounds from various Disney princesses. In recent years, as more and more sexual minorities are accepted by the society, LGBTQ-type film and television dramas are emerging one after another. The good ones are "Call Me by Your Name" and "Love, Simon"; The smashed ones, such as "Interpret My Love with Your Heart 2", are well known to the public.

So, before starting this drama, I didn't have high expectations for him. However, because it is rare to see a Nordic TV series on Netflix, it is still clicked.

I didn't expect it to open, and it surprised me!

The story is short and concise. In 6 episodes, it depicts the mental journey of a Swedish crown prince who is in the process of adolescence, struggling between royal identity and self-identity.

The ignorant, throbbing, young love between Prince William, played by Edwin Redding, and Simon, played by Omar Rudberg, cast a soft light on the entire TV series. Looking at the delicate and complex emotional lives of these two teenagers, the arc of the characters in the play is perfectly displayed.

And what is very commendable is that under the love of youth, the film has a profound discussion on topics such as class differences, social discrimination, and families of origin.

Crown Prince William, originally the second son in the family, had a carefree life before his brother died unexpectedly, without being bound by the world. But when an accident happened and the burden of the heir to the throne fell on his shoulders overnight, the collision brought about by the bondage brought by inheriting the throne and the freedom of nature made the audience feel anxious for the character.

The words the queen said to the crown prince in the play accurately summed up the problems faced by members of the royal family in today's society: the title of the royal family is both an honor and a responsibility. Facing the task of royal inheritance, William's own sexuality, which is different from most, has always tormented him.

For William, the title of the royal family locked his freedom like a shackle, and forced him to struggle between love and reality again and again.

William loves Simon, so he has the phrase "everything is false, only I like you is true". But the chains tied to the two of them by reality also destined William to say "it's not me in the video" when facing the public that ran counter to his heart. He can never have both his love and the dignity of the royal family.

The hug of William and Simon at the end of the film, as well as the expression of William sitting in the car, basically indicates that in the second part, William will expose the relationship between the two to the public. At that time, it will be a bloody storm.

After talking about William, let's talk about Simon.

Simon came from an ordinary background, his father was drug-drinking, and his mother took two brothers and sisters to get by. The siblings also experienced contempt and discrimination from different social classes at school. Everyone is intentionally or unintentionally "reminding" his humble origin. Such a brave and strong boy, after the video with the crown prince was leaked, received more violent attacks from all walks of life and was under enormous pressure.

In Simon, there are ordinary people's desire for equality and dissatisfaction with the privileged class.

Therefore, when the creators cut up such a sharp question and displayed it on my screen, the shock in my heart could not help revealing.

The performances of the two male protagonists are vivid, especially Simon's actor, Omar Rudberg, who was born in an idol group. He contributed meticulous characterization and precise grasp of the characters in the first acting, which really impressed me. .

Therefore, such a masterpiece is naturally worthy of my five-star recommendation to everyone!
