It's a wound you don't want to touch

I have seen a similar video before, but I forgot what it was called, it was mainly about farms and slaughterhouses. This piece is a collection of almost all categories of persecution humans do to animals, food, decoration, entertainment, science. All in the name of serving human needs. How many times I want to stop watching the scenes of slaughter, whipping and cruelty, and how real these are. The supermarket market we go to every day is the proof. We rely on what animals provide us. Everything exists in this world, we do not perceive, we numb our nerves, or bury our inherent compassion. Looking into the eyes of every creature, only human beings are the most volatile and cruel. While gaining high IQ, we also gain the cruelty and fearlessness of our hearts, but we do not know that the price of such cruelty is that we will eventually be punished. At this time, I thought of the vegetarianism advocated by Buddhism. I don’t know where I read that it was originally for economic reasons. Now it seems that this may not be the case at all. To be a vegetarian means not to kill, and not to kill is because of what you have for other beings. The infinite compassion of the people makes you unbearable to hurt them, whether it is psychological or physical, they have the same perception as us

Earthlings quotes

  • [first lines]

title card: earth-ling n. - One who inhabits the earth.

Narrator: Since we all inhabit the earth, we are all considered earthlings. There is no sexism, racism, or speciesism in the term 'earthling'. It encompasses each and every one of us: warm- or cold-blooded, mammal, vertebrate or invertebrate, bird, reptile, amphibian, fish and human alike.

  • Narrator: It is the human earthling who tends to dominate the earth, oftentimes treating other fellow earthlings and living beings as mere objects. This is what is meant by 'speciesism'. By analogy with racism and sexism, speciesism is a prejudice or attitude or bias in favor of the interests of the members of one's own species and against those of members of other species.
