The first half of the film portrays a woman who would rather endure hardship than go against her heart. She is pure, pious and lovely. She is so beautiful. Someone advised her to live a good life with her beauty, but she refused. It was absolutely unnecessary that she still confessed to her husband that she was being harassed in every possible way because of her reputation, and she just said "I will work overtime to finish it". Such a beautiful and moving image of fate was created.
And the behavior at the end was like smashing a fine china on the ground. Tess decided to kill a loving and righteous person who took care of her family and loved her wholeheartedly just to find her "true love". "? Is this a move made by someone who buries children with his own hands and forbears all the rumors, not to mention that after so many years of age, he still hasn't filled up that stupid girly plot? And what did he do wrong except fall in love with her, what could Tess do to hide everything from him?
Maybe the inexplicable collapse of the characters is just to show the complex human nature? What a disappointment at the end. I guess it will have a shadow on all the adaptations of famous novels in the future. I don't understand what the gist of this story is. What is the significance of shaping Tess? All the praises disappeared the moment she picked up the knife. The only thing left is the way she eats strawberries at the beginning of the video.
(I must have liked the character image of Tess without the last half hour, but after watching the last half hour, I have nothing to say)
