Behind the solid color violence

Watching "Sin City", I couldn't turn my eyes away, and even forgot to light a cigarette.
How to describe this movie? A visual feast of pure colors or a glorious appreciation of violence?

The gentle demon Keven smiled unchangingly, even after his limbs were mutilated, he still had that numb expression, and even if he was bitten by a mad dog, he still had that cold look in his eyes. With vertical rain lines and white blood, Sin City's killing is so common, wanton and low.
If the bishops, houses, and policemen who should be defenders of justice become gangsters, then prostitutes with better faces and hot bodies will have to hysterically use submachine guns to defend their own interests. The so-called heroes, they do their best to uphold justice, based not on the law, but on moral judgments similar to instinct. The brave man died in the end. What is the end of waiting for the weak? The barmaid can only be beaten on her jaw by the police hero.

The ugly Marv kills for the only woman in his life who loves her; Dwight fights to protect the one he loves; Hartigan even shoots his head in the head to keep his beloved woman alive. These practices lack feasibility and credibility in the real society. However, in an unreal society, the behavior of protecting one's loved ones in an unreal way presents the only brilliance of humanity in this world. There is no principle, no need to save all mankind, for the sake of love, simple and powerful.

I am a person who does not understand love, so I feel the power of this movie.

This is a movie destined to belong to a few people, no matter how many people have seen it.

The impact of black and white and blood red visual effects, the use of light and shadow

Finally watched "Sin City", praise! I also watched the fast-forward full green screen version included on the CD. It was very interesting, but it was done indoors like this. I really like the gloomy tone created by the whole black and white film, especially the two stories of "Sin City" and "Yellow Bastard". Under the darkness and sin, what is hidden is the love and conscience of people, which makes people have a kind of Kill a happy impulse! It's just that Jessica Alba has too few scenes.

Sin City quotes

  • Becky: Sure, there's money. Sure, you can move my mom into Old Town, and let her know that her daughter's a goddamn whore.

Schutz: [sarcastically] Breaks your heart, doesn't it?

  • Marv: [Narrating] I've been having so much fun I forgot to take my medicine.
