I have never watched a TV series adapted from a movie, but just talk about my humble opinion from the movie itself. This is a very typical drama about the interaction of family members in a classical manor. Perhaps the story line should have been more and more complicated, but it has actually reached the extreme in two hours.
Needless to say, the costume design scene layout of the movie is enough to prove its charm because the award won is enough. Some scenes such as the manor parade are also very clever photographic art. Since the main line of the story is the royal family's visit to the manor, everything is inseparable from how everyone faces this sudden and exciting problem. There are too many protagonists in the movie. It’s worth mentioning that the emotional lines of several members of the family may be slightly reluctant but the processing is reasonable, as well as the servants in the manor. The cunning and persistent decision can be said to be unsuccessful.. Fortunately, they have restored the dignity of the manor with calm, confident and demeanor, and the confrontation between "Professor McGonagall" and "Umbridge" is exaggerated and standard. When everyone seems to be quiet and hurriedly preparing for the work of serving the royal family, everyone is thinking about their own setbacks and difficulties at the same time. Perhaps their own problems are more important than the king and queen’s comfortable day. To tell. Just as a line in the movie describes: "The swan is calm and graceful on the water, but it kicks wildly under the water." Everyone has to show their most positive side, but their heart is full of depression and unspeakable concealment. Of course, what people see is still calm and graceful. Although there is no ups and downs in the development of the plot, I believe that the audience is intoxicated. At the end, under the big vision of Downton Abbey, this movie brings people a beautiful smile. The feeling is that such a long stream of water touches your heart knot from time to time.
The plain plot is also destined to its unsurprising rating. Not everyone is happy to appreciate such a slow-paced movie with no highlights, but you can hardly fault it no matter what angle you look at, just like everyone will not dislike being on the lake. Like a swimming swan.
