Buck is the dog of destiny, because he has the force in his heart. When it hadn't been in the world and was ignorant, the Force turned into a black wolf to show it the way forward.
The film really cannot afford the name Call of the Wild, at best it is a messenger of justice. Buck Road didn't pick up the leftovers and returned to Zhao. In order to help the widowed old man send letters, he stopped one more stop, fought the evil forces in the sleigh team, helped the lone old man to give up alcohol, and finally punished the evil and promoted the good to let the bad guys take the blame. Proper positive person.
But the word “wildness” is not that. It is overcoming thorns and thorns, taking chestnuts from the fire, rebirth from Nirvana, and giving up to me. The experience of Buck in the film is even more miserable than John.
Buck's final destination is the head wolf of the wolves, not the family's favorite dog. This title is not earned by kindness, integrity, and self-sacrifice. Just because they saved a wolf, all the people surrendered, and the beauties returned to their hearts. Do wolves rely on democratic elections to vote as their leader?
And Buck is too anthropomorphic, if you use animation directly, it may be easier to accept the dog design. But the theme of this film, if used in animation, does not appear to be heavy enough. This is a bit difficult to ride a tiger.
Perhaps trapped by the PG classification, some elements of the original work have been discarded. But if you haven't read the original and are willing to accept a warm movie, you can still watch this film.
Highlights:
1. Unlike the original, this film gives John Thornton a story from the past. This is done in the hope that the experiences of John and Buck will have some similarities, in order to show that humans and dogs have found courage after overcoming the tragedy together.
2. Buck is half of the Saint Bernard pedigree and half of the Scottish Shepherd pedigree. It is described in the original book as looking like a big wolf, rather than his hybrid appearance in the movie. In addition, the sled teams in the movie are not all huskies as described in the book. In the movie, only Spitz is a husky, and it is black and white, not all white in the book.
3. The whole process of this film uses CG to make a dog, so that it has a more comprehensive way of expressing emotions, and at the same time prevents real dogs from being frightened or hurt in harsh environments.
4. This film is the first live-action film directed by Chris Sanders.
