Small innovation, small subversion, the picture is very textured

I rented a DVD home to watch this film when it first came out. I remember that the film was the champion of a week in the North American box office rankings.
What impressed me most was the opening: the midsummer afternoon sun, the golden cornfield, and the yellow texture of the picture. The monster pretended to be a scarecrow. The black scarecrow and the cornfield formed a strong visual contrast. The whole picture was very visually impactful. The helplessness of the little boy, the rampant monsters in broad daylight, the horror of the father and brother, and the horror atmosphere was very in place. In the end, the little boy was taken away by the monster. The opening scene can already become a very enjoyable horror short film!
As for the later plots, the filming is also good, because the filming is not old-fashioned, and the monster modeling is also amazing. The catch is that the climax part is not strong enough and not violent enough. There is also innovation and the black youth did not die. What died was the handsome white guy who was thought to be the protagonist at the beginning, and his role was annoying. Haha was very subversive, and the final ending was also satisfactory. He actually circled to collect money for the exhibition!

It's much better than the first one. Besides, the director knew in 2003 that he wanted to show off his masculinity. It was definitely prescient.

It's not scary at all, okay? But He Liangliang said it handsomely...

Taggert: [yelling out to Billy, who's putting up scarecrows] Billy! Get number three up now. Don't come in to eat before you do. And check the other two! Make sure they're wired up good. I don't want them blowing over again the first big wind.
