Most of the jokes in the film come from pretending to be stupid. In addition to looking a little stupid, the mentally retarded group does not seem to have a low IQ. At least not much lower than our protagonist.
Such a movie is not obvious when it comes to motivation, friendship is not outstanding, and it doesn’t seem to be a concern for disadvantaged groups in society. Therefore, in order to make the audience not look down on it, it must be a little bit of love to stimulate.
But this kind of love seems a bit nondescript. Lynn has only cared about Steve from the beginning. It was just that a caring Special Olympics Volunteer cared about the contestants with some defects.
