Life story

My Spanish film literature teacher recommended us to watch and suggested that we eat it with the original text. The original text is a short story, which is the little Christmas story Auggie told the writer at the end of the film. The original text is narrated in the first person of the writer. In my opinion, there are two main points of the original text: one is that "I" meets Auggie, and then he shows his photographic works for "I", which is also his life. "I" thought he was creepy from the beginning, and it was so strange that he slowly got a taste of the life of the passersby who stayed in his camera for a short time; another important point is the origin of his life-recording camera described by Auggie for "I". Christmas story. In the movie, Auggie and the writer (i.e. me in the original text) strung everyone's stories together. Rachid, Ruby and Cyrus cleverly returned to the little Christmas story in the end. It is worth mentioning that after Auggie told the story at the end, both the original text and the film mentioned that the writer/"I" actually doubted the authenticity of Auggie's story, and even thought it was possible that the story was edited by him. Yes, but he has no evidence hahahaha, this point is more obvious in the first-person description of inner activities of the original author. I personally think that the processing of the movie tends to show that the story was made by Auggie, because there was a scene six minutes before the film where Auggie found a white kid stealing something next to the bookshelf, and he went after him and chased it out. There is reason to suspect that Auggie’s story is to make some changes to his experience (changing a white kid to a black kid) and then add some materials to make up this new story.

If I have to make a comparison, I will prefer the original text. It's short and concise, and it's memorable. Moreover, the emphasis on Auggie in the original text makes it more reasonable that neither the writer nor our readers will pursue the authenticity of the story, because the original text highlights Auggie’s daily shooting routine: one uses his camera and uses his eyes to witness. Once a person has experienced so many life stories for a moment, you can't say with certainty that his story is made up. Because that might also be whose life story.
