Can’t help but watch the second time carefully and slowly

I watched the first movie for livtyler, and I don’t know why I didn’t watch the movie. The story is simple. From the perspective of God's extramarital affairs, people can't subject Shanna and Gavin to subjectively hate Shanna and Gavin? They even want to complain about being caught in the first cheating, and every time in the passion drama, there is Joe who is struggling and broken outside. Coupled with the intense background music, people can't watch the passionate drama well? Daniel is law and law, derailment is an indisputable fact, and derailment is wrong. Also outstanding are the thoughts on religion and the side stories of the police (TH’s accent is really nice, and the voice of liv is really nice, and the role of PW’s paranoid religious fanatic is so good, right)

1. Shanna's extramarital affairs

The plot of Shana and Joe at home in the movie always makes people feel uncomfortable and deserted. As the person who was first saved by religion, Joe met and fell in love with Shana who had lost his footing, and wanted to save her by religion. Shana was indeed partly rescued. Shana herself had warned that Gavin was not allowed to speak wildly about her marriage to Joe, but I think Shana’s gratitude to Joe is far more than her love. That’s why When looking up at the stars of the universe with Gavin, she said that, she just wanted to be loved. The domestic violence and running away of her ten-year-old father undoubtedly caused severe trauma to Shana's young heart. The appearance of the handsome and charming pua bad boy Gavin has led to the ending

Criticize by name
Gavin’s starting point is not justified, but this kind of bad boy-like thinking makes people unable to be objective, maybe I am also a badboy.

She derailed happily under the mixed mood of being ashamed, and the close-up shot was indeed meaningful. Putting aside ethics, a woman who is not only bound by religion in pursuit of true love and sustenance, but a man who is cynical and unbelief who can give people true love and dependence. At the wrong time and in the wrong place, truly loving each other?

2. Discussion of Religion

The three most exciting episodes of religious debates in the movie all took place in Joe’s home. The results of each episode were unhappy. For the first time, Gavin was paranoid towards Joe, and a somewhat disintegrating religious discourse came into being. Extreme disgust. For the second time, the discussion that Joe strongly requested was even more about what Joe said about skeptical life, and even asked for a more conservative Ugandan church to strengthen his belief. (I think Shana is not a true devout believer from beginning to end. Religion has indeed helped change her, but it is not a cure for the symptoms.) The third time the gun and the old testament, the two protagonists interact with each other and the acting is even more exciting, the new testament and The difference in the Old Testament. In the end, Joe went to the extreme of religion. He put on a green hat to try the adulterer and adulteress instead of Jesus. He even madly used it to prove the second difference between himself and the unbeliever Gavin. People with faith have nothing to do. Fear can dedicate one's life to faith. But he was wrong!

3. The last leap. Because of the story of my daughter, this story on the rooftop is even more moving. I can’t imagine a person who has enough time to think and really face death. Torture and resolutely, make extreme choices of being persecuted in fear and love. In the third stage of the conflict that broke out in Joe, no one would doubt that if Gavin didn't jump, he would definitely shoot Shanna.

The first bell rang and the sound of the police was heard. Before Gavin made his last leap, Joe struggled.
After Gavin proves himself, I don’t know if his faith is broken
Personal understanding has a little bit of hatred, but it’s more painful and strong.

At the last ringing of the bell, with panic and determination, it was a leap that had nothing to do with ethics and faith. I think he is a hero, not only a hero of AIDS gay roommates, but also not only a hero of Shana.

Can you stop calling Xie Na?
All the silence and despair broke out at the last moment, silence is better than sound

A seemingly simple but very complicated film, I didn’t expect it to end so sad. The things about homosexuality or religion in it are completely true portrayals of Sun Lu and his wife, but the latter did it deliberately. Why did LIV pick this up for the past two years? This kind of tepid film, this time there are so many dedicated, PW did not enter the scene in the lurking before, this is not bad, I feel that only TH's acting skills have been supported!

life goes on. Who is talking about things before jumping off the building. Faith discussion, the ending is good, don't let everyone rejoice. ps, for liv, it's still beautiful. ps, I really like the photography, always putting the characters in the non-center position of the picture.

The Ledge quotes

  • Gavin Nichols: I guess it's always inexplicable why you fall in love, isn't it?

  • Gavin Nichols: [after Shana tells Gavin she and Joe are going to a new church that does missionary work in Uganda, that's against smoking, drinking, immodest dress for women and secular music]

    [scoffs]

Gavin Nichols: Jesus Christ. Restrings your guitar one day, stops you from playing it the next.

Shana Harris: You're so flippant, aren't you? You have no idea what it's like to lose everything and to try and put it all back together again.
