Fun movie

Sentimental and somewhat pretentious movie, but it does not hinder its beauty.

The sentiment of the 1980s is always like this for people today, not enough romance, not enough vigor, not enough depth, not enough absurdity, not enough madness, too vulgar, obviously, it's going to be a part of it. The name of literature and art still carries such a hint of preaching, which is really intolerable.

But then again, even though it's a little quarrel and the enemy doesn't fight the bridge sets that we don't know each other, we are still using it, but it doesn't have the pure taste of the original.

Probably the times are progressing, people are precocious, and they are becoming more obvious. In any case, the performers and directors carry the stigma of some times and cannot be exempted. So 80 years of movies now seem to be full of interesting anecdotes and lush and lovely; on the other hand, current movies, such as "The Hawthorn", under the banner of innocence, have been "pseudo-pure" and shameful, twenty years later. People who read "The Hawthorn" may not be so.

The Sure Thing quotes

  • Gib: [encounter a padlocked trailer while attempting to get out of the rain] It's locked! Good! This is very good! It's important that this place should have an air-tight security system... in the middle of nowhere!

Alison: [digs through her bag] I might have a nail file... I have a credit card. I have a credit card!

Gib: Credit cards work on a completely different kind of lock.

Alison: No, you don't seem to understand. I have a credit card!

Gib: You have a credit card?

Alison: I have a credit card!

Gib: [relieved] You have a credit card.

Alison: [suddenly crestfallen] Oh. My dad told me *specifically* I can only use it in case of an emergency.

Gib: [sarcastically] Well, maybe one will come up.

  • [after seeing Alison]

Gib's friend: Forget her, I hear she only likes intellectuals

Gib: So? I'm intellectual and stuff.

Gib's friend: You're flunking English. That's your mother tongue, and stuff.
