On the way to meet the publisher, Sam Wexler (Josh Radnor), who aspires to be a writer, meets Rasheen, a little black boy who lost his family in the subway. The kind Sam helped him find a community service agency, but Rasheen refused to stay there because he had already been adopted by 6 different families. Impulsively, Sam decided to let Rasheen live with him for some time.
Rasheen enters Sam's chaotic single life, including his weird circle of friends. Annie (Marlene Ackerman, it’s hard to see that this turned out to be the hot girl in "Watchmen"), a hairless autoimmune disorder patient who will never find the right man to date; a couple discussing moving to Los Angeles Mary-Catherine (Zoe Kazan) and Charlie (Pablo Schreiber), although this decision will inevitably endanger their relationship; there is also singer Mississippi (Kate Mara), who tests Sam’s fear of commitment. When Sam and Rasheen's friendship gradually developed, he finally realized that adulthood is not about getting the right answer to what you want in life, but staggering forward in the process.

The whole movie is a bit incomprehensible, and the plot lines are too distracting. Josh Radnor needs to work hard to write and direct himself, but he is very cute, and the bald girl is also very interesting!

I like this slow-tuned movie, and the music is also very good. However, the black child found in the subway may be perverted, Charlie may be irresponsible, Sam #2 may be a shy otaku, Mississippi will meet a rich second generation in the future... Does the movie want to talk about the real adult world? Anyway, the plot is a complete Hong Kong drama.

Happythankyoumoreplease quotes

  • Mary Catherine: I always thought of that as the moment you came into focus... like, "Oh, there you are."

  • Sam #2: You can hear this, close your eyes

    Annie: What?

Sam #2: I just want you to listen to me. Humor me please?

Sam #2: [Annie closes her eyes] It's not easy to be adored - you in particular - you have a tougher time with it than most, I get that, but I want you to give it a try. Think of it as an experiment. I promise I will be very wonderful at adoring you Annie. It an area where, I think I got a great deal of talent. You're worth the adoration Annie, you're worth it, and the fact that you don't believe it, has nothing to do with whether it's true or not, it is true for me, and that is all that matters.
