I remembered this movie because of a meal of Haibian.

This film was released in China in 1984. At that time, movie tickets were issued by units; movie theaters were still called Dongfeng, Hongqi, and Qianjin. I was still in elementary school at that time. In order to follow my mother to watch this movie, he lied and said that the homework was done. I regretted seeing the movie because I couldn't understand it at all. Of course, Haibian was unavoidable afterwards.

I remembered this movie because of a meal of Haibian.

Many years later, I relived the movie in the language laboratory of the university. This is a great movie. The loyal love of Oliver and Jennifer, the beautiful theme of the movie, the snow all over the floor, and the classic line "Love means never having to say you're sorry" all left me deep memories.

Although it is really a time-honored three-vulgar love film in essence, but with the piano music, plus the bickering and laughter of the male and female protagonists, the performance of the two is as natural as real life. The rhythm of meeting, falling in love, getting married, and leukemia is very fast. But it can make people cry when they clearly know the ending. Isn't that what a good romance film requires?

Jenny: I never thought there would be another world better than this one. What could be better than Mozart? Or Bach? or you? Bharat: Jenny? Am I above Bach and Mozart? Jenny: And the Beatles.

Love Story quotes

  • Oliver Barrett IV: See, I think you're scared. You put up a big glass wall to keep from getting hurt. But it also keeps you from getting touched. It's a risk, isn't it, Jenny? At least I had the guts to admit what I felt. Someday you're gonna have to come up with the courage to admit you care.

    Jennifer Cavalieri: I care.

  • Oliver Barrett III: If you marry her now, I'll not give you the time of day.

Oliver Barrett IV: Father, you don't know the time of day!
