Ned Racine (William Hurt) is a slick, incompetent and lecherous Florida lawyer. At a concert, Ned met McGrady Walker (Kathleen Turner), a married socialite. Their extramarital love affair made Ned more and more crazy. He finally decided to get rid of Tracy McGrady's husband, the tycoon Edmund Walker (Richard Crenna), to help Tracy McGrady inherit the property and fly away.
