Please don't be me

The development of the close and contradictory relationship between reporters and writers during their road trip is really fascinating.
Between them are the interviewer and the interviewee, that is, the spy and the narrator, the reader and the writer, and the writer and the writer.
So the feelings of both sides towards each other are very complicated.
As a reporter, I am eager to be you, the successful best-selling author popular with thousands of people, but I also understand that the secret of your success comes from pain, that charming heartbreaking loneliness and pain.
Why don't the writers also envy reporters. He is handsome, eloquent and good at socializing, so he won't be overwhelmed by sensitive pain.
So the reporter finally broke out in anger. Anyone who has low self-esteem will explode in such anger when they are pointed out that they are ordinary people.
That's why the writer confessed to him so much in the middle of the night. My creation stems from the pain that I cannot be saved, and that pain that may swallow me again at any time.
That's why the writer said to the reporter at the end, you don't want to be me.
Both of them have the same loneliness and low self-esteem in their bones, so you will be touched by me.
But please don't be me.

I was so touched by the details of the reporter who left tears after listening to the author's self-analysis late at night.
There is only a thin line between us. The reason why we manage this sensitive relationship so carefully is because we are too afraid that such emotions will explode.
Because any real soul confession is the blood drained from the heart by the scalpel.
And people who can resonate with you, when they hear your soul confession, why not endure the same pain as you.

Made me sad for a while, "This idea that if i could just achieve X and Y and Z, that everything would be okay."

3.5 The overall is not as good as the previous one, but there are still elements and themes such as alcoholism such as success and failure, and I am still very good at giving the movie a complete and moving emotion, so I felt it again. The next one is a sci-fi thriller theme written by the director himself. I am looking forward to it.

The End of the Tour quotes

  • David Foster Wallace: Well, I think being shy basically means being self-absorbed to the extent that it makes it difficult to be around other people.

  • David Foster Wallace: It may be in the old days what was known as a spiritual crisis: feeling as though every axiom in your life turned out to be false... and there was actually nothing. And that you were nothing. And that it's all a delusion and you're so much better than everybody 'cause you can see how this is just a delusion, and you're so much worse because you can't fucking function.
