"Realistic girls and boys" is indeed the unique charm of "Hearing the Waves". Although "Hearing the Waves" is a description of high school life, the high school students in it probably cannot realize the benefits, and only think it is plain and unintelligible. It is for teenagers and girls who have grown up someday to settle down and watch it quietly.
Before I actually saw this film, what attracted me was a small still picture of Meng Zong: Taku and Rigako walked side by side on the summer street, and the sun shined light and shadow on them through the green shade. When I actually saw it, I found that their relationship was far less romantic than the illusion in the picture. Takuwa Rikako, who was walking on the streets of Tokyo at the time, couldn't even talk about kindness. Think about it carefully, this is our true youth age, right? Like "Hearing the Waves", the people who were special to us at that young age, because of special reasons, even failed to make friends. What we have is probably just a few times in the memory of walking side by side on the streets of early summer.
