A contemporary variant of a religious story

Just after reading it, just say a few words, if you have time in the future, write another film review. . .
Coupled with the two days of the island nation’s nuclear crisis, even the hearts of many people who don’t know the truth are full of apocalyptic feelings. Now watching this film is quite appropriate.

I feel that the film is very good, the scene scheduling, and the arrangement of the shots are very skillful. Many back-and-forth shots are rarely seen in blockbuster films. Previously, they were mostly techniques from European art films.

The story is basically a variant of the Bible story familiar to Westerners. The name of child of men can be thought of as son of man, and there are various boats similar to the Ark appearing repeatedly in the movie. Probably this is a new age religious story combining some elements in the story about the savior and the story about Noah's Ark.
Why is it contemporary? Because he tried to get rid of many outdated things in the religious stories of the old age, such as racism, discrimination against women, human humbleness and pagan hatred, etc., plus many contemporary hot spots, war , Refugees, doomsday crisis, faith crisis and so on. I'll talk about it again later when I have time.

In the story, the demise of mankind does not happen all at once, but a slow and painful process. The memories of the midwife proves that the loss of fertility is not like a scientific crisis, but a religious or moral punishment. The birth of "Son of Man" brings a new beginning, new hope, to save a world on the brink of destruction.

There are many small places full of metaphors, such as recurring close-ups about shoes, which represent a certain kind of hope. What I think of is the Latin phrase: Ego sum via et veritas et vita. "I am the way, truth and life" (Jesus language)
The sewer where the Gypsies took them is simply a copy of the cave of prehistoric humans. Various handprints and graffiti. This is a new starting point for human civilization.
The more interesting thing is that art ark. . . Many masterpieces in art history are collected there, but they are meaningless. Art represents the vanity of human civilization. But if the old civilization is destroyed, no amount of glory can be passed on. This is a deeper despair than simply fearing the demise of mankind. This is even more interesting if compared with the sewer cave mentioned above.

Finally, the music in the film is very rich, between a large collection of British classics. Leaving this aside, when the film talks about the actor's child's past, Mahler's mourning song is played, which is basically the main theme of the film for most of the time.

[A-] I think there is no need for such allegorical science fiction films to be overly entangled with the logical bugs in their stories. The really interesting part of this kind of themes is that they portray various extremes in an extreme environment. Psychological activities and social phenomena convey the core of their thoughts in the form of fables. In this regard alone, "Son of Humanity" can already be regarded as a leader in this category. On the other hand, Alfonso Cuarón used his unique audio-visual language and extremely abnormal long shots to inject the soul into the story, truly using every tiny piece of information in the picture to tell the story. This alone is enough to make the film Directly advanced from the level of "good film" to "magic film".
