Humor, romance and warmth have always been the two major themes of Hollywood animated films, and "Ice Age" is no exception. The first episode takes the family relationship route, which is similar to the "Finding Nemo"-like search for relatives, except that the baby is returned to the father by three animals, and it contains the probation of the saber-toothed tiger, as well as its relationship with the mammoth and the tree. Friendship between laziness is established. The narrative rhythm of the 1st episode grasps the density properly, and the conflict and climax are well controlled. In contrast, the sequel is slightly unnatural.
The sequel movies will more or less clone the classic design or narrative style of the previous episode, in order to continue their selling rules. At this point, episode 2 was successful. Using squirrels to trigger an avalanche, "Ice Age 1" was brought about, and "Ice Age 2" was ended by squirrels cutting through the ice gate to dredge the snow, which echoed back and forth. It's just that the sequel's love route is not stable enough, and the mother mammoth mistakenly thinks she is an opossum, and the plot arrangement is somewhat dramatic.
Of course, this dramatic arrangement is to create spectacle for comedy, and furthermore, to provide protection for the box office. In terms of drama, the 2 episodes are richer, with more funny jokes, and there is no shortage of exciting parts. I also think of the plot design of "Noah's Ark", which is ingenious. On the other hand, it is precisely because of this deliberate expansion of the content that the artistic creation lacks a bit of ease and skillful brushwork, and only indulges in inheritance and modification.
