Jiang Wen has always felt that he is a person with personality and ideas, and being a director did not disappoint.

"Let the Bullets Fly" is adapted from the chapter "Robbery of Officials" in Ma Shitu's novel "Ten Tales of Night". It is a film directed by Jiang Wen. The film mainly tells the legendary story that happened in the period of Beiyang warlords. "Let the Bullets Fly" hit new highs at the box office and in attendance when it was first released.

At the beginning of the chapter, eight pure-blooded high-headed white horses are flying with four hooves, and the wheels and the rails rumble. Steam rises from the chimney of the locomotive, but the source of this steam is actually the huge hot pot in the carriage. Next to the hot pot sit Lao Tang (played by Ge You), who took office as an official, as well as his wife (played by Carina Lau) and master. Unbeknownst to the satisfied Lao Tang, a crisis awaits him, and their fate will be changed forever.

Another movie that made me fall asleep, a bunch of people running around in a chaotic way, and the guns were slamming around, it was so noisy

The rhythm of the whole film is chaotic and long and wordy, the stunt scenes are quite amateur, and the characters who appear are blunt as if wearing masks. This is a story-telling movie, not a Spring Festival Gala where everyone joins in the fun. Many characters can be deleted. The laughing fruit in the first half is obvious, but then it became more and more chaotic, and it almost fell apart, and many lines were inexplicable. If it can be cut to 90 minutes, it should be much better.
