Pure commemorative stickers

I watched a very old black-and-white movie in a small theater in Bo Village in '18. It cost only five dollars, and almost all people watched were elderly people. Although there is no color, it can make people feel the emotion that the author wants to express and the peculiar weight of that era.

To be honest, Japanese and English subtitles, my level at the time was not enough to understand every sentence, but the pictures and soundtrack of this film gave me a sense of immersion of the times.

From the lightheartedness of the early days to the cruelty of the war, the protagonist is also changing from the small self to the big self. When the protagonist turned around and refused to leave, I think he also made a decision. Of course he wants to return to his hometown, but now he is no longer living for himself, his life has a higher meaning. He chose the latter, and he also chose an avenue.

The vast landscape is well shot. I chose a prototype adaptation of Ophelia who played the harp and stayed in hell, but the reflection on the war included the undead of Japanese soldiers and no repentance.

The smell of death permeates the whole film. The Burmese-Japanese Cemetery~ The performance of Rentaro of the Three Kingdoms is good~

The Burmese Harp quotes

  • Voice of Inouye's parrot: Mizushima, let's return to Japan together.

  • British officer: We've done all we can. The troops that took Triangle Mountain have returned home. The Japanese survivors are not in this town.

    Captain Inouye: But that tune?

British officer: You hear a certain way of playing - a few notes floating by the breeze, and it's enough to make you think a dead man is alive. You must be dreaming.

British officer: [to his adjutant] He must be dreaming!
