Politics and Sex in 1948

People always forget some things autonomously and selectively. For example, there was a Khmer Rouge in Cambodia in the past. In my memory, more than 900,000 people were driven by Burbut from the capital Phnom Penh to a border area with harsh living conditions to survive. , Leaving only 100,000 people in Phnom Penh. Not long ago, a friend who had been to Cambodia sent me photos of the massacre. The lives slaughtered by the Khmer Rouge regime were lined up as a wall of skeletons, which made people feel stunned. For example, there used to be a country called Romania, and a person named Ceausescu, another country was called Yugoslavia, and someone called Tito. Of course, there was another famous person named Stalin, and another person with very complicated feelings for him, named Gorky. He had been to Gulag before and said something insincere to Comrade Stalin after returning. Later, our comrade Solzhenitsyn described us from being a great writer in careful eyes to hypocrites with split personality in the "Gulag Islands".

Yes, Tito still has another identity in his memory. He is the leader of the Third World Non-Aligned Movement. He fell out with Stalin.

And my sloppy thoughts are all because I watched another Kusturica movie "Dad Going on a Business Trip" last night. I thought it would be another film with an unreliable and unreliable Ku’s style, but it turned out to be so solemn. It was an image that brought time and memory back to the Tito era of the former Yugoslavia (Yugoslavia, which began in 1948).

child. Children in special times. In the eyes of Oscar, who stopped growing up at the age of three in "The Tin Drum", Germany in the Nazi era was the absurdity and ugliness of the adult world, and the struggling of the mother and certain uncle under the table pushed this absurdity to the extreme. Everything is unreasonable, so Oscar no longer grows up. The 7-year-old boy in "Dad Going on Business" is the true love and freedom that exists outside the repressed adult world. The father half-truly said to his lover, "Who can really love others these days", but the father really loves his son Yes, his mother loves him too, and the terminally ill little girl Martha also loves him. The little girl was sent to the ambulance and asked the little boy, do you love me? The little boy answered like a man, you are my favorite person in the world, I love you more than I love myself.

Sleepwalking. Kusturica has a metaphor about transcending the self in almost every film of his. Sometimes it's the flying state of people. Here, it's the regular sleepwalking of the little boy. The little boy's sleepwalking made the viewer feel nervous, and he went to explore the unknown world with him when he was sleepwalking with curiosity. The soul is half out of its body and half blurred, which seems to be in contrast to the high-pressure state of the adult world that is silent during the day. Sleepwalking is the freedom of children. In a totalitarian society, adults, or uncles like boys, suffer from insomnia due to excessive mental stress and inner torment. He was convicted of commenting on newspaper cartoons and was arranged to go on a "business trip". In fact, he became a political prisoner.

In the most beautiful scene in the movie, the little boy followed a dog to the little girl's house during a sleepwalking. The little girl's father, the Soviet doctor, lovingly put him on his daughter's bed, and let this pair of innocent friends hug and sleep. The next morning, the pair of children took a bath together in the bathtub and witnessed the differences in the bodies of boys and girls for the first time. Behind the scene full of warm and childlike innocence is the story of another Soviet exile. The little girl’s father, the Soviet doctor, carries the tragic story of another totalitarian country and his personal fate. However, here, the director did not open another story, just from the sympathy of the little boy’s father to the doctor, this little boy Girl, is already his only love. He can no longer deprive his children. But the little girl eventually died.

Adults. The men here are mainly "dad" and "uncle". "Dad" has a wife and two sons. The family is happy. He is also a more attractive man. He also has a lover who has been good for two years, urging him to divorce his wife. Of course he is not willing. In fact, he and The wife is in a very good relationship. This is how he became a political prisoner. While on the same train as his lover, he read a newspaper and complained to an exaggerated political cartoon in the newspaper, "This is too much." He said emotionally, what is the relationship between politics and divorce, and they quarreled about it. Later, the lover who could not get his marriage promise became a whistleblower. He reported his political complaint to his wife’s brother, his wife’s brother, the uncle of the two boys, and arrested him. After the son was circumcised, he told the two sons that his father was going to a long distance on a "business trip."

He was found guilty by words and was freed by words and returned to Sarajevo. The speech he wrote when he was reforming his youngest son wearing a red scarf to swear an oath to the Lord Mayor dramatically ended all the suffering. Because he said, "Tito is the party, and the party is Tito." Of course, he was right. So his politics was embarrassed and it ended like this.

Back in Sarajevo, Kusturica arranged the key for the men to solve the problem at the wedding of his wife and brother. His wife and brother who had been imprisoned were also invited, so the two men sat together and talked like adults. The conscience of the other man was also somewhat condemned. He asked his brother-in-law, if you invited me to a banquet, did you forgive me? My brother-in-law said, I want to forget, but I can't forgive. However, they still clinked glasses like men. The climax has not yet been reached here. Among men, it seems that there are some things that can turn fighting against each other, because they all know that they are nothing but a doll of politics.

The man wants his wife to reconcile with his brother, sit next to him, and talk to him. The wife bitterly told her husband that she would rather die than die. But when the camera turned around, at the wedding, the wife who had already puffed up her belly calmly sat next to her brother. In front of his sister, the brother is now a tortured penitent. She said, brother, can you sleep? He said, sister, I can't sleep. He leaned his head helplessly on his sister. But the sister was not melted. She said again, brother, you can't sleep, have you tried brandy? He also said, sister, brandy is useless.

This painful man, the entanglement in his soul completely moved me. Why can't he fall asleep? it goes without saying. He is her brother, he is a member of the Communist Party, and his brother-in-law's lover is a woman he likes. Later, that woman married him. But his life, every day is very painful, his happiness has long been deprived.

The climax of the movie is the final liquidation. After this painful man confronted with his sister, he was bitter and regretful. He tried to commit suicide, and the broken wine bottle made the man's forehead bloom. He was pulled into the room when his sister came to him and silently wiped the blood with a cloth towel. Perhaps, this last act of suicide made the sister finally forgive her brother?

Another fall after the fall was settled between the pair of former lovers. He used sex to liquidate her, like a rough assault, but also like a love-hate sex. The man was still contradictory at this time. He stared at her full body, and the hatred seemed to dissipate in front of the body of desire. How much hatred does he have towards the informant, or is he love-hate entanglement? Will he and her stay entangled afterwards?

What I can read from this movie is that there is very little love and unexplainable desire between this couple. Who do men love? What he really loves is his wife who is in distress, but he can't refuse new lust (his politics and sex are a bit like Dr. Thomas in Prague). The woman may betray him because he can't get his hatred, but she cried and said that she didn't expect his brother-in-law would really catch him in. She said that she missed him. After he liquidated his lover, he left, leaving behind a woman who felt ashamed all over. She tried to hang herself, but she didn't succeed. All she could do was cry. I don't know how many such girls have had in a certain period of time in our country.

Each is not a bad person, is it the wrong person, or the time is wrong?

In the whole movie, the boy's mother who shed the most tears. She loves her father, her husband, her children, and her elder brother and younger brother. She bears everything she shouldn’t bear. She received the love of men and also suffered betrayal, betrayal from her brother, and disloyalty from her husband. However, she carried everything, and a new life was conceived in the woman's womb.

Recently, because a colleague lent me Kusturica’s suit, I almost watched all Lao Ku’s movies. I was a little numb, and aesthetic fatigue was inevitable, and there was no desire to speak, but "Dad Going on a Business Trip" made me sigh, and under sigh, it began to overflow again.

The first EMIR film that I saw was serious enough. I didn't like it very much. I found that he could always make the whole film with a few very short clips in the film, including the ending part.

The little boy was circumcised without anesthesia. His brother Zhengtai. The little boy was ignorant and took away the opportunity of XXOO which was not easy for his parents. Finally, he hugged him to sleep with his father, and his mother had to cry. He mispronounced, "Walking on the road followed by Comrade Tito." He washed naked with a girl, and then the girl with leukemia asked him "Do you love me" in the sick car, and he said "I love you most in the world". "If the cash box is empty, there will be no Mr. De"
