I want your respect

Siegfried can be regarded as an actor's agent. He goes to discover potential actresses and let them act in plays and shine on the stage. It is really irresistible to face a long, good-looking man who can even coax women with a gentleman. The courage to spend a lot of money for the one he loves is not something every man has, but he is willing to spend a lot of money for every lovely woman, but he hurts his wife, the only woman who thinks she is him. In the end, hand in hand is a woman who is willing to fight with him. Not only do I want your love, but I also want to share part of your ambition, half of your troubles, two-thirds of your sorrow, and all your respect. This is what impressed me the most in the whole show.
His life has been ups and downs, rich and rich, and often changed from bankruptcy. Such a roller-coaster-like life is good from a long distance. I wonder if I don’t have the determination to toss to death. It’s not my style to go bankrupt and lose money. . Finally, like a choreographer, it's so good.

Everyone looks for the shadow of "Citizen Kane" in the post-1941 movies, but "Ziegfried" must be one of the lights that illuminates "Citizen Kane", which is really wonderful!

The plot is as bad as a dog, too ink, especially the part about how to hook up with a French actress at the beginning is too mentally retarded, but it can really burn money. This battle is really huge in 80 years.

The Great Ziegfeld quotes

  • Anna Held: Don't you like Monsieur Ziegfeld?

Pierre: Oui, madame, that's the trouble. Everybody likes him, especially the ladies. Oh, madame, you'd never be happy with him. You'd never be able to hold him. Why, he attracts women like the flowers attract bees. Like the flypaper attract the flies.

Anna Held: Well, that's all right. I've seen the flies on the flypaper and it seems to me they stick very well.

  • Anna Held: [phone rings, Marie answers it] Oh, those reporters again. Tell them no. Positively no. I do not want to speak to them.

Marie: Madame, it is Monsieur Ziegfeld.

Anna Held: I don't want to speak to him either. I never wish to speak to him again! Where is he?

Marie: Downstairs in the lobby, madame.

Anna Held: Tell him to come up.
