Prologue of The Matrix

The "The Matrix" series is the best science fiction series I have ever seen. The stories it tells deeply influenced the Three Views. Today, let me talk about one of its core contents: whether this world is real.

In "The Matrix 1" there is a kid who can bend the spoon with his mind. He said to Neo: "Don't try to bend the spoon. This is impossible. On the contrary, try to find the truth. The spoon does not exist." So Neo did what the child said, and he turned the spoon into a bend through his mind. Those who have studied philosophy must know that what a child is talking about is idealism. In fact, "The Matrix 1" mainly explores whether this world is real. It tells that people nowadays live in the illusory world of idealism, but the world that Neo reaches after escaping is the real world of materialism. The story of the human resistance organization starting to fight against robots in order to save humans.
I don't know if this world is real, but if it is not real, will my life change?
When watching the movie "Desire", there was a very touching moment. Towards the end, Kanako said: "Because everything is a dream, you can love and kill boldly. If you think this way, you will become very brave." If the world is not real, you will become Are you brave like Kanako? Probably not, because if there is no time travel, there is only one chance to play the game.

What is the meaning of living if you have what you want and have experienced the person you want to experience? Assuming you are going to die tomorrow, what do you want to do most now?
I think if I die tomorrow, I will do something for the people I love.
Probably because of this concern, those who already have what they want and have experienced what they want to experience will continue to live. At the end of 2013, it was rumored to be the end of the world. At that time, I wish the world would end like this. But now is September 2014, you are alive, I am alive, and life is still going on. For you who will be reading this article many years later, all this is just a prologue.

The illusion is always a fatal blow to people, even if there is beauty in the illusion, because people begin to pursue a kind of truth and meaning as soon as they have cognition. This is why Westerners can never get rid of the imagination of the savior, whether it is the Middle Ages or the electronic age. Perhaps this is the only kind of proposition worth thinking about in life. The Matrix actually borrowed a sci-fi shell, and its imagination of the relationship between man and machine is essentially full of Christian apocalypse and philosophical speculation. Morpheus is the "Dream", Neo is the "New", and Trinity is the "Trinity."

The Matrix quotes

  • Lieutenant: I think we can handle one little girl. I sent two units, they're bringing her down now.

Agent Smith: No lieutenant, your men are already dead.

  • Trinity: Please Neo, you have to trust me.

    Neo: Why?

Trinity: Because you have been down there Neo, you know that road, you know exactly where it ends. And I know that's not where you want to be.
