The Shawshank Redemption

I like this movie so much~ the hero was wronged and went to jail, but he never gave up. Decades have dug a way to the outside world, this kind of belief is difficult for ordinary people to achieve. I finally gained freedom by relying on my own wisdom. The warden was punished as he deserved. I just saw that the old man who had lived in prison all his life got out of the prison but didn't know how to survive. After being isolated from the outside world for too long, he couldn't integrate into society. I finally ended my own life, and I felt quite uncomfortable when I watched this section.

The survival system in Shawshank is similar to today’s social system. People who “painfully changed their former faults” are thrown into the darkness again and again. Those in power do dirty deeds but preach “the way of salvation” in front of the public. The character has no edges and corners, and the thoughts lose sparks. People who are "systematized" can only survive when they are accustomed to submissively.

The Shawshank Redemption quotes

  • Red: [to Andy] Let me tell you something my friend. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.

  • Red: [narrating] The first night's the toughest, no doubt about it. They march you in naked as the day you were born, skin burning and half blind from that delousing shit they throw on you, and when they put you in that cell... and those bars slam home... that's when you know it's for real. A whole life blown away in the blink of an eye. Nothing left but all the time in the world to think about it.
