The movie is generally not bad, and the actors' acting skills are not problematic. But you will not fall in love with any one character. You don't care who dies. For example, the heroine's character has a very persuasive dislike. Even after the reversal, it was revealed that she had been sexually assaulted by her uncle for more than ten years, but she did not show any mercy to her. Psychological thrillers are most afraid of shooting a one-second thriller into a three-minute dementia. Any temporary reaction of the actors will appear stupid on the big screen. This is why most thrillers prefer to use sound effects and sudden objects to scare the audience, rather than using slow motion close-ups to express the protagonist’s scared face. This movie has been using the latter. When the three girls are caught, they can breathe tremblingly for three seconds. If they breathe too much, they just want them to shut up quickly. There are also plenty of unnecessary close-ups. Few directors can take such close-up shots with a high-level sense, and most of them are only artificial. Because of the long time, the heroine's meticulous makeup and impeccable poignant crying really seemed too much of a play. Some of the statements about schizophrenia mentioned in the movie have certain enlightenment significance, but the beastization of the ending turns the film into a science fiction. The previous theories are really difficult to convince the audience. At the same time, the movie wants to show that the injured child is more "pure". This is also unacceptable. It is incredible to convey such a value from the perspective of the protagonist. Real mental patients or family members and friends will definitely feel offended. From the logic of the story, the heroine's performance is also too naive. As a victim of perennial sexual assault, passive resistance is understandable at first, but it makes no sense to say "urine on the body". I like the image of the old doctor very much, but the part of chanting the spell is really outrageous. The subtitle translation has a particularly funny sentence: Your personality is too magical! Laugh out loud on the spot in the cinema. In short, the film's ambitions are very big, psychological thrills, split personality, pedophile sexual assault, and science fiction mutation. But I couldn't make a good statement in every aspect. The horror and reversal are no better than "Clover's Archives", "Hold Your Breath" and "Saw Horror", the depth of psychology is no better than "Hide and Seek", and the education and warning of sexual assault cases are no better than "Focus". For fans, James McAvoy is indeed a bright spot worth looking forward to, but it is not enough. For a movie, good actors are far from enough.
