Vengeance, Death and Two Families

The West with fierce folk customs... It's really a blood feud between two families. If they disagree, they will draw a gun. When I see two people coming together face to face, my heart goes to my throat, for fear that Colt will get angry. ... The plot is getting more and more abusive towards the back.

McCoy and Hatfield have lived on the border of Kentucky and West Virginia for generations. It was originally because of a little thing that finally intensified, murdering each other, lynching, and finally developing into a large-scale fight, which almost triggered the second American Civil War...

This history is of great reference value for the study of American folklore, the so-called family honor, partisan disputes, justice and revenge, and other social symbols.

The plot is remarkable. The first half of the first episode and the second half of the second episode are really hard to pick. The rhythm is well grasped, and the evolution of the conflicts between the families is vividly displayed from small to large ("Devil" Anse is really handsome. Exploded), from the second half of the second episode, I felt that the plot of McCoy's house was a little broken, the rhythm was too fast, and the last wave of McCoy's self-immolation operation was a bit too sudden...

But the portrayal of the characters is very full. Although there are so many faces in the two big families, everyone can remember the character characteristics after watching the whole drama. Most people suffer injustice).

But no matter what kind of person, there is flesh and blood, and they are warriors who fight for the interests of their own family. Even if a vulgar gangster like Uncle Jim kills without blinking an eye, when he encounters an ambush, he resolutely gives his hope of life to Hatfield's second son. Kill yourself and become a benevolent, meet in hell. There is also Hatfield's eldest son, Johns. When the right to pursue love is dominated by family interests, his behavior is betrayal, triggering a series of butterfly effects, and the two families are cut off from each other, and their fate is regrettable.

The end of the film explains that the two families finally signed a permanent peace agreement in 2003 (the time span is really long...) This blood feud that lasted for 138 years finally came to an end... War is cruel after all.

The dead are great.
