Mammuth is a French film by Gustave Kervern and Benoît Delépine. Gérard Depardieu embodies an employee, Serge, finally retired... except that he cannot touch the money for his retirement: his former employers have not declared it! He therefore left to crisscross France in search of his supporting documents, on an old motorcycle, the Mammut. Massive and mythical, it is commensurate with the character. This funny, melancholy and poetic road movie transforms the administrative quest into a quest for the past, that of a simple man who must relearn how to live.

Gustave Kervern and Benoît Delépine are both comedians, actors and directors. They are interested in their films in marginal individuals. Among the films they made together, we can mention: Louise-Michel, Avida, Le Grand Soir…

Mammuth is a French film written and directed by Gustave Kervern and Benoît Delépine. In the film, Gérard Depardieu plays Serge, a recently retired employee who, as he looks ahead to his new life, discovers that he cannot receive his pension due to a clerical error from his previous employer. Serge then boarded a steamer across France and rode a motorcycle called a Mammuth to find his lost payslips and paperwork. Filled with melancholy, poetry, and sudden playfulness, this French road trip film turns mundane administrative pursuits into an exploration of Serge's past life as he learns how to live after a lifetime of work.
