Miss Potter

I bought this film and put it on hold for two months before I saw it. Beautiful scenery, cute Peter Rabbit are all attractive things. The whole film, according to my understanding, is divided into three parts, the first part tells the story of miss potter when she was a child, how she conceived the story of Bit Rabbit, which belongs to the part of childhood experience, and also interspersed with the experience of publishing Peter Rabbit's story; The second part is the focus of the whole film, telling her love story with the young publisher who published her story, and what she wants to show is about her conflict with family and social concepts at the time; the third part is about her first love. After her death from illness, she resolutely moved out of the family and bought several farms through a former friend of hers to avoid them being bought and destroyed by greedy developers. This is the beginning of a new life.

Although the focus of the selection of the film is to show the turning points and conflict points in the life of this outstanding picture book pioneer, I am still not very interested in the love display in the second part. If the film had focused on the first and third parts, it might have been a great film, but for now, I can only rank it as second-rate.

But there is also something that I particularly like, that is, the pictures of those cute illustrations moving in front of miss potter, which are really cute. For example, when Peter tickled Peter's itch with his fingers, Peter's eyes were so fascinated that he turned his neck away, which was so cute.

So, in short, if you like Peter Rabbit's story, it's not wrong to watch this film, at least the lovely illustrations and beautiful scenery are still very charming

I wasn't used to seeing you back then, but I'll definitely like it now.

Miss Potter quotes

  • Rupert Potter: Our daughter is famous, Helen. You're the only person who doesn't know it.

  • Beatrix Potter: [voiceover] There's something delicious about writing those first few words of a story. You can never quite tell where they will take you. Mine took me here, where I belong.
