Rename: Henry is Everywhere

First off, why are the acting skills of foreign children so expressive? ? After all, it's a movie made four years ago, and it's not the first time for these two young actors to watch their works. I really think they have great acting talents.

This movie is actually not well done in general, because there are a lot of useless scenes in the movie, the ones that are deleted and don’t affect the plot very much, the people who watch it are a little tired, and even I wonder if this is a plan after all Movies that kill neighbors, but fortunately, these transitions to useful plots are quite natural. The only thing that surprised me was that I always thought Henry was the only male lead, so I thought it would end with him and his mother teaming up to kill the male neighbor next door. I didn't expect Henry to die in the middle of it... So I found out later. Only later did I realize that Henry's mother was also an important figure, and I felt that her presence was very weak, like a supporting role.

I feel that the director may not be very good at portraying characters. For example, I thought my mother seemed to be a supporting role earlier, and the portrayal of the male neighbor next door was also very vague. Even at the end, I didn’t know what he did to the stepdaughter, whether it was beating or incest, even because there was very little description. Every time I see his normal face, I can't resonate. Also, the ending feels a bit perfunctory. Regarding the principal suddenly found out that he was alone, he overturned the police chief, and even the mother dispatched the police car without being useful. It only makes me feel that it was so easy to overthrow the police chief. The use of lynching is indeed a bit unreasonable.

It feels like the movie has a hodgepodge of flavors. First, it carefully describes a smart Henry and his life, and then the plot suddenly stops, and it becomes Henry's family saving the little girl next door.

But is there really someone as smart as Henry in this world? I feel that he is an all-rounder. At the age of 11, he is not only involved in economics but also in medicine. He can even see his talents in physics and philosophical thinking, ??

First-class cast, third-rate movie, warm but not warm enough, thriller but not scary enough, so mediocre that people can't complain. Many characters are superfluous, but the two little male protagonists are very talented

The Book of Henry quotes

  • Mrs. Evans: Henry, where are you going? Henry!

    [henry exits the classroom]

Henry Carpenter: Goddamn it, Janice. How much longer does this have to go on? What else do you need to see?

Principal Wilder: I believe you mean Principal Wilder? Henry, we're not going down this road again.

Henry Carpenter: Bruises, exhaustion, decreased school performance. What have her grades been this year?

Principal Wilder: You know I can't tell you anything about another student's grades.

Henry Carpenter: You're under no obligation to investigate. You need merely report suspicion of. It's, it's your ethical responsibility as an educator.

Principal Wilder: I made preliminary inquiries which turned...

Henry Carpenter: So make secondary inquiries!

Principal Wilder: It's more complicated than that, Henry. Mr. Sickleman is the police commissioner and an upstanding member...

Henry Carpenter: As if upstanding members of the community...

Principal Wilder: These type of baseless allegations can have extremely serious ramifications.

    Henry Carpenter: Jesus! Do...

[henry grabs some child abuse brochures]

Henry Carpenter: Do these things mean anything?

Principal Wilder: I have known Mr. Sickleman longer than you've been alive.

Henry Carpenter: Don't condescend to me.

Principal Wilder: I'm not gonna subject him to public scrutiny without conclusive evidence.

Henry Carpenter: Fine. I will handle this without you.

  • Susan Carpenter: Sheila? Hello?

    Peter Carpenter: Found her.

Sheila: Oh... oh. Lovely. You brought the children. Hello, Hank.

Henry Carpenter: Sheila. Looking radiant as ever.

Susan Carpenter: Let me guess, drinking away memories of that ex who left you in the lurch with two young boys.

    Sheila: That was you.

    Susan Carpenter: Oh, yeah.
