Dean is a black practising lawyer with a bright future and a family life and beauty. On Christmas Eve, Dean meets a friend he hadn't seen in a long time. Since then, Dean's life has been turned upside down. It turned out that this friend put a CD in Dean's bag that recorded the entire process of a powerful man murdering a congressman! Poor Dean, unknowingly, was closely watched by the black sheep of the NSA, put under all kinds of pressure, and was even prosecuted for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Rachel for no reason. In desperation, Dean had no choice but to start his own escape and track down the real murderer behind the scenes.

It's great, even though it's a movie from ten years ago, it still has the power to shake people's hearts. How much power have we given to the state? What kind of lens are we living in? It's scary, and it's a pity that I'm just a normal person.

Enemy of the State quotes

  • Brill: In guerrilla warfare, you try to use your weaknesses as strengths.

    Robert Clayton Dean: Such as?

Brill: Well, if they're big and you're small, then you're mobile and they're slow. You're hidden and they're exposed. You only fight battles you know you can win. That's the way the Vietcong did it. You capture their weapons and you use them against them the next time.

  • Selby: Jones, Krug, what, are you guys from Communications?

    Jones: No, we're Ops.

Fiedler: You can tell by their haircuts.
