Room 1408 in my heart

When I was very young, I watched so-called "ghost movies" (this is probably as young as 10 years old)
and then came into contact with "thriller movies" when I was older . I think these two are different types of movies, the latter is more Focus on grasping the psychology of the audience. Of course, the technology of ghost films is getting higher and higher now, and many horror elements are mixed in them.
After watching this one, I can't help thinking, what is the horror, in fact, horror is the pain of the past, this kind of pain is so scary that we are afraid. For example, I have a scar on my body, so what's more terrifying than tearing the scar with my own hands? Horror is pain.
I have seen so many ghost films and thrillers, but they are actually narrating the past of the protagonist, or the past of the director. When people dare not face it but have to face it, it is like a nightmare that will never wake up, endlessly circulating and reciprocating. Everyone has a room 1408 in his heart.
The room is very simple, there is no furnishings, the wallpaper is dark yellow, the lighting is dim, and even the paintings on the walls are so boring. However, once you actually live in, boring paintings can become tools for murder, killing yourself.
I think it was the repairman who lit up my eyes throughout the film. He didn't say anything and stepped into the room, and at the same time did his job well. Everyone is like this, as if they have never lived such a painful life, always wandering outside 1408, not taking a step beyond the thunderous pool. If someone forgets that human nature, like many characteristics of human beings, is limited, just like the protagonist in the film, his presumptuousness exceeds the limit that human nature should have. Room 1408 will appear in front of you.

PS: My favorite scene is when he climbs the window, it scared me a lot, it's so cool HO~~~~HO~~~

1408 quotes

  • Mike Enslin: The room's gotta be filthy. I mean, the sheets haven't been changed in... what, eleven years?

Gerald Olin: No no no. We're very professional here. 1408 gets a light turn once a month. I supervise, the maids work in pairs. We treat the room as if it's a chamber filled with poison gas. We only stay 10 minutes and I insist the door remain open. But still... A few years ago a young maid from El Salvador found herself locked in the bathroom. She was only there for a few moments, but when we pulled her out she was...

Mike Enslin: [sarcastically] She was dead?

Gerald Olin: No. Blind. She had taken a pair of scissors and gouged her eyes out. She was laughing hysterically.

  • Mike Enslin: Let's "Encyclopedia Brown" this bitch.
