Earlier, the staff of Poly Bona Xintiandi Studios contacted me and said that they planned to make a premiere event and hoped that I could organize a group of science fiction fans from colleges and universities to participate. I readily agreed, but I didn't expect that the masses of students in Xi'an were far more active than those in Chengdu or Chengdu. I contacted the heads of the Science Fiction Association of several schools, and only five people signed up in those schools. I have been recruiting people on the BBS of Jiaotong University for a long time, and finally 26 people signed up. Adding up to 31, the scale is decent.
However, when the movie was actually showing, we met at about 6:40, and it turned out that only three people arrived at 40. It dragged on until the activity started at seven o'clock, and there were only about eighteen people. Sigh, humiliating mission. Not to mention, talk about events and movies.
Originally, they planned to find the famous National Chiao Tung University Robot Team to perform, but they couldn't make it to the competition. There is a mechanical dance of embarrassing people in the show... Somehow it has something to do with robots. There is also an incredibly embarrassing little drama that looks back at the story of the Terminator series. Then there is a prize quiz, and the prize is a poster. My classmate fenrir snatched one. The question is what is the name of John Conner's father... Who remembers such an old thing, but classmate fenrir remembers it as Carl Reese.
My perception of the movie as a whole is: No wonder it is called Terminator Salvation instead of T4. Apart from the number of characters, the overall style is completely different from the previous T1~3 series.
structure. The obvious two-lane pattern, Connor's one and Marcus's one. However, after watching the whole movie, I think this is a very bad structure. The plot keeps skipping and jumping over, and the result is that the two lines are too evenly exerted, each of which is not heavy enough, and each of them is not enough to make people feel enjoyable.
figure. The portrayal of John Conner is extremely bad. Why did he become the substantive supreme leader? Why do people listen to him? In order to save himself and his father at all costs, why should he. In T1~3, the distant legendary John Conner was so brilliant and great that he was all messed up by this bastard.
In contrast, Marcus is much better. I was pleasantly surprised at the beginning of 2003. There was such a hidden new element. At the same time, I immediately realized that he must have been transformed into a robot, but at the time I thought he had become a template, that is, all TNs. (N stands for an unknown model) The Terminator is his appearance. Just like in the Star Wars Clone Wars. My favorite part of the whole film is the part where Marcus walks with Carl and the little girl, where the personalities of the three people are fully demonstrated. It's a pity that it was cut into a mess by another line. When Skynet revealed the truth, I couldn't realize the struggle in Marcus's heart. How did he become a decent man from a murderer? I thought I would dig into a entanglement between him and his brother.
Carl Reese. Maotou boy, the potential is not small. This is a simple character, so it is easy to portray. The guy is fine, there is nothing to say.
plot. Bad to the end. Why does the woman trust Marcus so much? Why does Marcus succumb to John Conner like a soft-footed crab? Why is Marcus giving his heart to John Conner? With such a powerful combat capability and a powerful weapon against Skynet, it is really unreasonable to be finished like this. Don't want to say any more, it's too bad.
After Fenrir left the scene, he told me that the original plot of this film was not like this. There was no two-line plot. The whole film was the process of Marcus and Karl Rees looking for a resistance organization. At the end of the search, they finally found John Conner, but Conner was killed by the Terminator in order to protect them, so Marcus lifted John Conner's face and became the new boss in the days to come. What a great plot! All the bad elements are gone. But it is said that the producer thought that John Conner, as the main protagonist of the whole series, showed too little face, so he changed it to this...very bad.
Visual effects. T-600 is great, it is the most T1~3 element in the whole film. In contrast, the giant robot is reminiscent of the war of the world, while Skynet's defense is surprising. So the huge Skynet system only has so few guards? I have been looking forward to seeing the governors in rows, but I only saw one, and there were few shots. Overall, there is nothing that makes a deep impression.
I used to think that Terminator 3 was not good, but now I realize that 1~3 are actually on the same level. So, this movie really shouldn't be called Terminator 4, Salvation or 2018 Random.
