I want to close my eyes and blow this movie like critics all over the Internet. But I can't do it. In addition to being commendable with women as the protagonist, it is a traditional super-English film with a comprehensive "average" from characterization to battle scenes to the soundtrack (except for Is She With You, the soundtrack is simply cheesy and makes people play. Extreme). Rotten Tomatoes film critics have blown it to the height of TDK. I can only understand it as a new way to lead in diss, to blow a silly Baitian work that is the opposite of BVS in every respect. They just don’t want to slap themselves in the face, or more likely, they hate what they don’t understand, and this is a very straightforward super-English teaching film with light, hope and fun in every detail. And it won't make people unreadable.

This may be the most mean summary, are you sure you still want to look down.

Let me talk about the good part first.

When Diana left Paradise Island, fighting like a warrior, thinking like a child. Straightforward, innocent, and ignorant of human society, except for the mother told her that "Amazon warriors should protect human beings with good nature, so that they will not be bewitched by the evil war god Ares." She took it seriously.

Good and evil are distinct, brave and brave, can't stand lies, fraud and political games, and will draw their swords when they see injustice. Diana, who has first entered the human world, may be the closest "chivalrous" in our cognition. She has the ability to save others, and she has the kindness and sense of responsibility to stick to her own practices. People who stand in the low morals are not worthy to mock this behavior as "the Virgin." They should be grateful for her to stand on our side, and never stand idly by like a self-righteous vested interest, just for "greater good". A hero with a pure heart is the most beautiful thing that mankind can have.

Diana, humans are not worthy of you. After killing "Aris" and discovering that the humans still hadn't given up on the evil plan, Diana remembered the warning her mother had given herself. We all off the screen know this is a fact. Humans are killing each other not because Ares whispered in the ear, but because of deep-rooted greed and arrogance. War, slaughter, plunder, all these crimes do not require God's impetus at all. Diana's belief in human nature was shaken at that moment because she felt that she had caught a glimpse of our ugly side. The movie almost wants us to say goodbye to Silly Baitian. almost.

But it only ends there. It tries to tell us that Diana is right, and that humans have not stopped doing evil because Ares is still alive. Therefore, after killing Professor Lupin, the morning sun rose, and the enemy German boy showed a simple smile, as if freed from the curse, as if it was not them who had put the gas bomb on the plane and forced the squad to an end. . They became harmless in an instant, everyone was just bewitched and obeyed orders, everything was Ares's fault (but that really isn't, HUMANS ARE FCKING HIDEOUS). And Diana solved the ultimate problem of degrading mankind, because Steve’s sacrifice made her believe in love, and she refused to stand in line for Ares in order to love. She also bluntly emphasized the lines containing love twice-I believe Love, only love can save mankind.

If the movie had brewed a little bit of depth and philosophical speculation before, it collapsed at this moment. In order to tell a bright story about human nature that film critics like, it completely pushes the crimes of human beings to Ares, which creates a terrible fantasy for us, as if this way we lovely humans are worthy of it. The heroine is the same. It also ends with "believe in love" extremely simply and rudely. This kind of summary is quite superficial, not only in the same lines as in the English composition of junior high school (who added I believe in love and Only love can truly save the world into the lines, which is close to the level of Zod's snapped neck), but also It also wasted the foreshadowing of the whole film’s discussion of human nature, destroyed the cohesion with BVS, and the film’s own logic.

It is not impossible to use the love of Steve and Diana to push the latter to the conclusion that "I believe that love and love can save mankind", because this emotional filming is quite sincere, and Steve's sacrifice is also qualified as a WW The fuse of the runaway. However, I believe that there are more human qualities that Diana wants to express to impress her. She has seen the crimes of mankind, witnessed the bravery of front-line fighters, experienced the warmth of Belgian villagers, and teased children to eat ice cream. If she stopped abruptly after saying "Humans are so much more", it would be better than a simple one. The word "love" is better to sum up all the above. It gives people a narrow feeling, as if the love here only refers to the love between her and Steve. I don’t think this is the original intention of the movie, but it’s like this. Diana thought of Steve saying I love you to her when she was darkened, which made her actions seem like redemption from love. .

This line of emotion accounts for one-third of the movie. It is simply telling some viewers that it is the love from a man that makes this female superhero fight for humanity at the last minute. Because Steve loved her, she believed in love and wanted to protect the world.

What kind of change and summary statement is difficult to explain. They first gave Diana a glimpse of the truth of human nature, and then immediately put her back on the track of the Super League with love, "The truth you see is only because Ares is not dead, ps. Steve loves you". This part of the processing can be said to be very in line with the expectations of film critics. The good and evil of human nature are so complicated. After a long time of discussion, film critics may not understand it. They may comment on it as a mess, and directly point on love, love and love, which will make film critics inspire and instantly understand this hopeful and bright super hero. The story makes them very excited.

Pushing Ares and believing in love also led to two loopholes: First, it makes the logic of the movie itself very awkward. Diana herself said at the beginning that she saw the darkness in the light and realized that everyone has good and evil in everyone's heart. However, this boss battle and the subsequent rainy days clearly reflected the goodness of human nature, ah Reis is the bad guy, and the human beings regained their nature by killing Ares. Therefore, the dark side of human nature that Diana saw should not be understood as the dark side, but simply the effect of being bewitched. In this way, Diana's conclusions do not match the facts she experienced. We humans are not bad, we are all innocent babies.

In addition, it is not connected with BVS. In BVS, WW obviously feels tired. She will fight on Doomsday in a critical moment, but she has a neutral attitude towards humans and is definitely not the warrior style she loves at the end of the film. Of course, a lot of things happened between the two movies, the Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War, and the Vietnam War, all of which will change Diana who "believes in love". But the movie didn’t even mention these transitions, so there was a kind of inconsistency—modern Diana took this photo and recalled the past, directly showing that “Steve taught me to love, let I regained my belief in mankind, and I have fought for love until today"... However, the actual situation is obviously much more complicated. It did not solve the problem of "Why are the heroines in BVS so cynical" as the creators promised.

Well, maybe this is not the job of this film. This film just wants to tell a simple origin story. But this inconsistency makes people feel that it is avoiding the important and the light. It skips everything that needs in-depth explanation and ends in the simplest way. It owes the audience an explanation.

If you compare the film to a big meal, then it has some excellent ingredients. Many of its clips are impressive. The final Boss battle is faintly with Man of Steel's fairy fighting style; seeing Steve sacrifice and awakening his potential, and BVS Li Bruce witnessing the sacrifice of Superman and returning to mankind. The war comes down the same line. But it is a pity that it did not connect the events and emotions of the last part well, and did not endow it with a shocking and convincing ending. After tasting the mixed feelings of the human world, the struggle between Diana’s personality and God’s personality, Steve’s "lover" role and the human spirit he represents, sacrificing oneself/sense of responsibility/fighting for those who are unable to fight, it is impossible at all Condensed in a word "love", should not simply end with a sentence of chicken soup. It should have been more than that. This love is so out of play that people completely ignore the first half of the two parts that are worth digging deeply: the mother told Diana that fighting does not make you a hero (Fighting does not make you a hero), and the chief told Diana that it was taken by the white man. Own home. They are completely obscured by the bad summary.

I have to emphasize that I have no opinion on the jokes, light-hearted daily life, bright colors, etc. in this film. I have no opinion on the elements of traditional super-English films, such as Hero's Journey (training, dead mentor, first step into the world, showing off the edge, encountering setbacks, last-second rescue). I don’t like this movie because I love BVS, but I can see what kind of compromise DCEU has made: Patty Jenkins, a director who shot "The Devil", will voluntarily let love come to love Did the superficial lines of going appear in the movie? In fact, the entire film's lines are all IELTS five-point composition level. Rotten Tomatoes' 28-point BVS can throw it 100 blocks away. Tell me this is what Jenkins can bear? Would such a talented director abandon the in-depth discussion of human nature and just talk about chicken soup? Warner has always advertised itself as a filmmaker-driven studio. After watching this movie, I deeply felt deceived. It was obviously interfered by the senior management, but I can't blame them. They need word of mouth, need to make money, and need to continue to shoot DC movies.

Who killed this movie with great potential? Those who can't stand the "different". They can't bear something too big for their little minds. They are eager for the oldest super-English films. They are eager for bright and interesting movies that put aside realistic issues, affirm human qualities and make them feel at ease. They are eager to escape reality rather than face up to contradictions. They are eager for someone to tell them "human beings are good." Their ideal film must present a positive side in a very straightforward way. The story can be simple, the characters can be rigid, the preaching can be chicken soup, but you must have fun and make them happy, even if you sacrifice the rhythm and clichés, it doesn’t matter. They think that Super British movies are only suitable for this, "I don’t want to see a handheld like Sea King. The role of the Trident appears in serious movies."

How far are you degraded. Persisting in turning a blind eye to the bright ending in MOS and BVS, instead praising I believe in love?

Once upon a time, it was TDK that film critics put on the altar. It was a film that was serious, realistic, scourge, refused to avoid the important, and forced us to stare into the abyss and face ourselves squarely. Now they are chasing such an extremely average super-English film, only because it looks positive and can make them addicted to fantasy, only because they need to insist on dissing their dark reality camp. Ironic, the reputation of DCEU needs it to save. Ironic, what saves DCEU is not an excellent movie, but a work that has accurately captured all the G points of the film critics. Ironic, only by making such a movie can DCEU be able to continue its plan with a "high-spirited". Because the audience believes in film critics. They may be confused and frown after watching the movie, but they will swarm the theaters because of the recommendations of film critics and the high scores of Rotten Tomatoes. This is a treatment that BVS has never received.

If you want such a movie, DCEU gave you such a movie. It's a film YOU deserve.

You asked for it.

* After Ares fell to England, her hair was gone. It was still very dense before. No wonder you hate humans.

*Come on, let’s appreciate MOS and BVS, which are actually very positive in connotation.

MOS: You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.

BVS: Men are still good. We fight. We kill. We betray one another. But we can rebuild. We can do better. We will. We have to.

WW: I believe in love.

FCKING SPEECHLESS

Bonus round:

  1. -Antiope, is it possible to learn this power? -Yep.
  2. -Diana, Germans are evil! -From my point of view, men are evil!
  3. I see through the lies of MANKIND.
  4. Do it.
  5. You were my brother Ares! I loved... wait a second.
  6. It's over, Ares. I have the high ground.

I have to add one sentence. This movie is still 3 hundred blocks away. People who think of something useless can do it now.

3.5; From the oil paintings of ancient myths, miracles and battles are imaginary, and the opening paradise island is incredibly beautiful; how the true goddess fades from her own weakness and grows into a true god, the heart-warming male ticket and the green leaf dragon set assist, and the slow motion of the fighting scene is opened in all directions. Duo Meiyan (the casting is 100% correct and perfect). Although the emotional drama routine is old, it is delicately laid out and sensational at the end. "I hope to have more time..." The tones of different scenes are obviously different, and they are intentional.

The best way to create fantasy themes is to provide a special perspective from fantasy to re-examine human beings. Although Diana is a superman, the director did not use "superman logic" to keep her away from the audience, but instead portrayed her as an inexperienced "person", focusing on the conflict of values, which is a height that other heroic films cannot match. In the end, she made her decision on the concept of human good and evil extremely sincere and credible, and did not become a metaphysical castle in the air.
