"2012": Let's look at how clichés are clichés

This morning I went to Meijia to watch "2012" in the half-price show in the morning. It’s not because of following the trend. In fact, when Roland Emmerich released the news that he was planning to make such a movie, he had been paying attention. I also watched a lot of trailers, movie clips and behind-the-scenes specials, very early. It is a movie that I will definitely watch this year.

Emmerich said in a previous interview that "2012" will become the terminator of disaster films. After watching a three-hour movie, although there is no guarantee that there will be no ancient history, but it is indeed unprecedented, and even if this is a movie that can’t be brought to mind but only needs eyeballs, it is not easy to surpass it. thing. At least, the excellent special effects in it increase the secretion of adrenaline and sweat a lot-such a special effects production that is enough to go down in history, but the results of the huge special effects staff who occupy almost half the length of the ending subtitles, of course. Huge financial support. Emmerich concentrated all disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions, and shook the entire earth with an intensity and scope far beyond the possible existence of historical records, producing all kinds of things that we would never even think of. Scenes, such as the Kennedy aircraft carrier crushing the White House, the tsunami sweeping over the Himalayas, etc., are enough to dwarf previous similar movies. Even for the shooting of earthquake scenes, the special effects team made a special shaking platform to allow the actors to have a more realistic performance. In contrast, movies such as "Japan Sinking", "Los Angeles Earthquake", "Poseidon" and even "Clash of Heaven and Earth" are so pediatric. If the demise of mankind could be so gorgeous, it would not be too bad. One point related to special effects is the design of those arks, such as the tower that can be raised, the hatch that can be opened on the side, the huge transmission and the shape with a huge sci-fi sense, all of which attract me.

However, the special effects are almost the only thing to watch in the whole film-so I said before that this is a movie that can't be taken with your head, you just need to take your eyeballs. The rest of the movie is full of various clichés, and is mixed in a botched way under the cover of special effects; it is like serving a plate of cold dishes, which looks colorful and very beautiful, and it tastes good. I just found out that the chef didn’t add any seasoning or mix...

Needless to say, the protagonist's halo, who can believe that the protagonist will die. So you can see that the sinking of Los Angeles almost followed behind the protagonist’s car, and the ash and flying rocks from the eruption of Yellowstone Park were almost behind the protagonist’s car. Las Vegas It’s just a little bit close to being behind the protagonist’s plane-so exaggerated that it sometimes makes me suspicious. Is this because he is blessed by the protagonist’s aura of immortality, or is it because he is actually like Edogawa Conan has the special physique possessed by the god of death, so where does the disaster go? When you see in Yellowstone Park, the protagonist’s car was smashed by a fireball from the sky. After half of the meeting, he had a meeting at the airport, and even the car fell off a crack in the ground. He was still hanging on the edge of the crack, and the poor Russian bodyguard , He died when we all thought he would survive, and the current boyfriend of the poor male pig’s ex-wife, the rich Russians and the mistresses of the rich...In short, when the disaster strikes, it is not fighting to be the protagonist. Just to become the protagonist's family, and you must not be the protagonist's family, or you will die miserably. When one day even the protagonist dies, it is estimated that either the movie is over or the earth is really dead. After watching the "Horror Movie Survival Guide", we might as well write a "Disaster Movie Survival Guide" out to play?

As for the music, the routine is too serious, so serious that you can guess it just by listening to the original sound, ah, this must be the soundtrack of a disaster film. Let me show you what you have to listen to and see: When it comes to sensational or heroism, such as the speech of the President of the United States, an extremely long and emotional melody of the French horn appears; when the protagonist flees with a large group of people At the time, the rhythmic and urgent percussion music appeared; when it came to depicting the hell-like tragedy scenes after the disaster, the tragic and solemn vocal chorus composed of only a single "ah" appeared; when it came to express humanity When the brilliance and hope came, the string orchestra's warm unison from the tip of the bow to the root of the bow appeared...and so on, it is almost like an assembly line product, the composer only needs to write a few topics. Then set it to these templates and equip a device, OK the original sound is done. If I put this original sound into another disaster film, you won't be able to hear a sense of disobedience, believe it or not. And this, what a boring thing!

Compared with these two huge clichés, the script is written rather than so bad. The compact narrative rhythm at the beginning can even be said to exceed the level of many disaster films in Emmerich's past. However, it started to procrastinate afterwards. Of course, it has nothing to do with the previous scenes being too shocking. The last hour can almost be described as "uninteresting"-even if I originally didn't plan to come to watch the plot, even if I knew I would be Bringing my brain over to find the plot, I just don't have a brain. If you compress it and cut it down to about 120 minutes, maybe it will have a better effect than it is now. Moreover, except for a very small number of people, everyone in the film is selfish and doing things that are unfavorable to oneself. This somewhat puts the film's moral position on a completely vague and embarrassing position-so Say, it's better not to take your head. In addition, there are many jokes and complaints in the script, so many that I can't complain...it might have been possible to save these clichéd saviors, but unfortunately, there is no bright spot.

But even if these clichés are made into a hodgepodge in such a cliché way, I still want to recommend this movie, even if it is only for the special effects. Just like that cold dish, even if there is no seasoning, the color alone can make people move their index fingers. However, when I came out of Miga after watching the movie and was blown by the cold wind to cool my head, I was also thinking about a question: when a movie only has special effects, why is it still called a movie by us?

Finally, I really have to sigh the passion of the people watching "2012". When I came out after watching the movie, I saw that the people lining up to buy tickets in Mega’s ticketing hall had already crossed the hall to the bathroom door. It was conservatively estimated that there were no less than 200 people. This is really terrible...

I still remember when I went to the cinema by myself to watch this film and met my classmates... But the film itself is purely entertainment

Loved the first half, it was wonderful. The second half is very bloody, the plot is very American, and the Americans have not figured out and used Chinese elements in place, which is strange. I like the crazy Charlie the most, the calm and wise old host before the disaster and Lambert's song at the end.

  • President Thomas Wilson: [Addressing the nation] My fellow Americans. This will be the last time I address you. As you know, catastrophe has struck our nation... has struck the world. I wish I could tell you we can prevent the coming destruction. We cannot. Today, none of us are strangers. Today, we are one family, stepping into the darkness together. We are a nation of many religion, but I believe these words reflect the spirit of all our faiths. The Lord is my shepherd...
