The film is based on the true story which happens on a MIT student who want go for further study in Harvard Medicine School. He is smart, absolutely. When he nearly, something he probably would never think happened.
He went to an graduated interview of Harvard and wanted to get the 30,000 scholarship for his postgraduate study. The professor of the interview told him the scholarship only offer to the student who jumps off the bed. It's really true because Harvard is full of intelligent students around the world. He does need a good reason to apply for the scholarship.
In his normal life, he was just study between working. He even didn't have a girlfriend when he was 21. His best said they were suck because expect study they really had nothing. Then the story changed dramatically. He met a professor who used to be a big player. The professor wanted to use him as a money machine. He underwent a very strange practice to make sure he could win money when he “counts” the cards.
At first he just wanna get the money for his study, but he did too much after feeling everything could become very easy in Vegas.
He though too much of it and even rude to the professor who took them to Vegas. He got a hard lesson of it. The boss of the casino asked him to take the professor then he could get all his money back.
During that time he made his best friends down. His best friends were still allegiant to their study and got the award. He lost himself so much~~~
As the pledge he took the professor back to Las Vegas, but the boss did give him back the money he won as the promise.
Finally he realized something goes wrong, it's not the real him. He came back to school and did well.
He went to the interview again and told the interviewee. The professor can't believe the experience he had. I think he got the award at last.
What is our life? We need do something adventured to make ourselves distinguished, but don't go too far.
Always account for valuable change.

After wasting two hours on this movie, the only gain is the sentence Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner. A movie with no climax and no highlights, the plot of a super idiot, and a movie that was changed from a best-selling novel, I didn't expect it to be like this.

"Learn mathematics, physics and chemistry well, and you will not be afraid to travel all over the world." I didn't expect it to be fulfilled here

  • [Ben insults Micky for the first time]

Micky Rosa: You had very clear instructions, and you didn't follow them. You didn't do your job. You weren't counting, you were gambling!

Ben Campbell: Well, why aren't you out there, then, Micky? Hm? I mean, we take all the risks. Seems to me like you don't do shit.

Micky Rosa: This isn't about me, you arrogant little infant.

Ben Campbell: [narrating] 'Winner, winner, chicken dinner.' Those words had been dancing around my head all night. I mean, it's Vegas lore, that phrase. Just ask any of the old-time pit bosses, they'll know. It was a Chinese dealer at Binion's who was first credited with the line. He would shout it every time he dealt blackjack. That was over 40 years ago, and the words still catch. 'Winner, winner, chicken dinner.' Yeah, try it. I had heard it at least 14 times that night. I couldn't lose. First of all, what I was doing wasn't illegal. There were certain institutions and people that frowned upon it, but it's legal. And not everyone can do it. Just those with gifted minds. I have a gifted mind. That's what got me into all this mess. I was counting cards and I was up over $640,000.

Ben Campbell: [we see the images of Ben winning at a game table] We used hand signals, too. Folded arms, the table's hot. A touch to the eye, we need to talk. And a hand running through perfect flowing hair meant only one thing. Get out. Now. 'Winner, winner, chicken dinner.'
