Atlantic Empire

To be honest, I watched two seasons in one go, and I feel that the plot is getting more and more heavy.

The mother is a prostitute, and the son rolls the sheets with his mother when he is drunk. Afterwards, he felt that he could not live in the world, so he went to war as a soldier. When he came back, he found that his girlfriend had given birth to a baby for him. His wife's real identity is actually a homosexual. Later, along with his gay girlfriend, he was killed by the protagonist's enemy. After the protagonist killed his own father, he was killed by the enemy.

He killed his father and his mother, married a wife and was gay, and finally died inexplicably. This plot looks so bloody and vomit-inducing... This is the synopsis of the first two seasons of Atlantic Empire, the name can be called: Jimmy's story.

I don't know who else besides me likes to watch this kind of movie.

People like me like to be attracted by the meticulous design and methodical progress, and follow the pictures, music, and plot faithfully. If you add a strong historical background and complex character relationships, you will be even more unable to extricate yourself.

So, stories are never as important as storytelling. It seems that if you want to make up a great story, you actually need to learn to tell a great story.

The regime is nothing more than a highly organized and specialized gangster organization.

Boardwalk Empire quotes

  • Arnold Rothstein: [referring to D'Alessio brothers] Do you know what the nice thing is about the Bronx zoo, Charlie? There are bars between you and the monkeys.

  • Arnold Rothstein: [during a card game] What should I do here, Charlie?

Lucky Luciano: Depends on what the other guy got.

Arnold Rothstein: Depends on what the other gentleman has.

    Lucky Luciano: Right.

Arnold Rothstein: Well? What does he have?

Lucky Luciano: How should I know? I'm no swami.

Arnold Rothstein: The very reason this game is so challenging. There's a lot of money in that pot. How much do you think is in there?

    Buck: Plenty.

Arnold Rothstein: 22,500$. How much mining equipment do you have to sell to make 22 grand, Buck?

Buck: A lot. Now are you gonna call or fold?

Arnold Rothstein: I'll see your two... And raise you five.

Buck: Take it. I was bluffing.

Arnold Rothstein: I know. So was I.
