Devil's Call

For a person who has no religious belief, after watching "The Ninth Gate", he doesn't know much about the various metaphors and religious ideas in the film. When it comes to The Divine Comedy, the Bible, and Faust, I am also at a loss. But at least I got it. It's a spiritual movie about demons. Temptation, greed, lust, etc. are all summons of the devil. When you respond to him obsessively, no matter how much you yearn and desire the energy of the devil, you hope to see the demeanor and power of the devil, but the devil is not kind. Merciful good. Sometimes the closer to him is the closer to death. That kind of strong belief support, at the moment of death, it was found in vain that it was just obsession.
Wonderful plot laying, good-looking picture framing, appropriate music rendering. The director did not disappoint, a good film full of connotations. Depp, who is still young, is charming with such a young flesh and blood.
All in all, a movie that I like very much, it is still very fascinating to watch it slowly.

As soon as Polanski fiddled with fantasy dramas, I would have the illusion that I was immersed in the world's major cultures and reborn after watching it. Watching this movie is not mind-blowing, and looking up all kinds of information after watching it is the most painful. Recommend a good movie. It's ridiculous to see someone comparing this movie to Inception in the comments. Inception is so good-looking entirely because there haven't been any good movies in Hollywood in recent years. Another "Memento" by the director of Pirates is much better than Pirates~

Female thugs are best at pretending, the positive role is very stupid, the negative role is very mentally retarded, the script is too simple but you can still watch it, but the film is too old, now appreciation, can only be used to test whether your appreciation level remains at the illiterate illiterate the following

The Ninth Gate quotes

  • The Girl: What do you plan to do if you see them?

Dean Corso: I'll probably hide behind you.

  • Dean Corso: Have you studied the engravings? They seem to have some underlying significance.

    Ceniza: But of course.

[Points to an engraving in the book]

Ceniza: Here, for example. This one could be interpreted as a warning. "Venture too far," It seems to say, "and danger will descend on you from above." This type of books often contain little puzzles. Especially in the case of such an illustrious collaborator.

    Dean Corso: Collaborator?

Ceniza: You cannot have proceeded very far with your research, señor. Here, look close.

[Handles a magnifying glass to Corso]

Ceniza: Don't you see? Only six of the nine engravings were signed by Aristide Torchia.

Dean Corso: Yes. And the other three?

Ceniza: But this is one of them.

Dean Corso: [Reads through the magnifying class] L... C... F... Who is LCF?

    Ceniza: Think.

Dean Corso: [Thinks a few seconds] Lucifer?

Ceniza: Very perceptive of you, señor ! Torchia was burned alive because he wrote this book in collaboration with someone else.

Dean Corso: Come on! You can't honestly believe...

Ceniza: The man who wrote this book did so in alliance with the Devil and went to the stake for it.

    [Grinning sarcastically]

Ceniza: Even Hell has its heroes, señor !
