Comparison of the Swedish version with the US version

I watched the American version of David Fincher first, and then I was so interested that I pulled out the Swedish version and watched it.
The whole process started compulsively compared with the American version, and there was no strong bias towards David Fincher, but instead saw the advantages and disadvantages of each.

1. David Fincher is indeed a visual Hollywood director. Like his other works, he has always inherited the super-stunning scene editing. This film is like this, and so is the feeling of "The Social Network"; in contrast, the Swedish version of the ordinary scene, the plot-introduction-style plot advancement .
2. Because the Swedish story was shot in English, David Fincher was able to take a lot of Swedish locations to bring the audience into the Swedish environment, such as snow, trains, cold weather, etc. The Swedish version didn't do it deliberately (because it didn't seem to be necessary at all), because the film has already revealed strong Nordic characteristics: the inadvertent disclosure of actors, language, living habits, and details is enough to make people feel strong Swedish style. The whole film has a blue color background, which is enough to bring people into the Nordic feeling, especially the store before the two leading actors drive to find the clue, which is full of Nordic characteristics.
3. In terms of completeness, the Swedish version has a more detailed and complete description of the emotional attitude of the girl with the dragon tattoo, which also lays the foundation for the ending of her relationship with the male protagonist and others; while the American version does not explain the plot. Kung fu, the jumping shots and structure that David Fincher is good at and loves have contributed a lot to rendering the atmosphere of the film, but it is too painful for those who have not read the book or know the plot. Therefore, it is more appropriate to read the book or the Swedish version of the movie and then watch the American version.
4. Regarding the ending, the emotional issues between the male and female pig's feet. The Swedish version seems to be more in line with the character traits of the girl with the dragon tattoo, and also echoes the character growth experience of the heroine explained earlier; and the David Fincher version seems to have joined the modern version of marriage and love thinking-.- It makes people look very female The Lord is indignant and sympathetic, the director is so smart.
When you have time, be sure to take a look at the book.
Then compare the two films with the original, and it seems to be more able to feel the true flavor.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo quotes

  • Mikael Blomkvist: I would have never done it, Lisbeth, but I understand why you did. I don't know what you have experienced, but I was about to die in that cellar, and you saved my life. Whatever you have seen, you don't need to tell me. I'm just happy that you're here.

  • Lisbeth Salander: [tattooing Bjurman] I've never done this before. Hold still, or it'll get messy.
