"How Beautiful is Life": Lei Feng, an indelible myth

honest film's George reminds me of Lei Feng, they are so similar, but in two different regions, different time only. I remember that when I was young, the school always emphasized that we should learn from Uncle Lei Feng, be good people and do good deeds, and take the initiative to help the lonely old household clean the room and do sanitation. Now it is really unforgettable to think of it. We have heard a lot about Lei Feng's deeds, but I didn't remember much at that time. I only remembered the inscription of Chairman Mao to Lei Feng-"Learn from Comrade Lei Feng". This shows that Lei Feng's influence at the time was great.

George was earlier than Lei Feng, and he was also a good man. It's just that at the beginning of the film, he got into a very painful dilemma, saying that good things are hard to come by, and it seems that being a good person is not all smooth sailing. Fortunately, God accepted the petition of the people and sent angels to help him. This is the so-called good people get rewarded. George is actually a very ordinary person, but the more ordinary he can reflect his greatness. Rescuing his younger brother, correcting the pharmacist, and later helping the poor in the small town, seemingly small but played a role in reversing the situation.

But why do good people always endure hardship? Why do bad guys always dominate? Isn't there no axiom in this way? All film and television dramas have always adopted such a convention, which may reflect the greatness of good people. But in reality, it may be the opposite. The thing that confuses me the most about George, a good man, is that he only has others in his heart without himself, but in reality it is rare to truly give up one's own life. Although people do not do anything for themselves, the destruction of the heavens is a manifestation of selfishness and should be criticized, but no one can be perfect in life. Reality is not fantasy after all, and sometimes it shows cruelty.

Maybe the reality has made us insensitive, and there are not too many illusions about life. Romance has been obliterated, beauty has been far away. Too many facts make us defensive and distrustful. Those instances of good people bleeding and tearing make kindness be suspected. Many people are not as lucky as George, they only get indifference. And we can only ignore everything and deceive ourselves: I am powerless, forget it! Forget kindness, forget morals, forget axioms, forget everything. There is no other way but to choose to forget.

But we need people like George in our hearts to help us get out of this moral dilemma, just like the propaganda: Lei Feng has left us, but his spirit has not. Justice always dominates the world, it has not disappeared but temporarily disappeared, hidden in everyone's heart. Every ordinary person can use this power to do extraordinary things, let the long-lost light shine into the window of our soul again.

Lei Feng's spirit will not die, he is an indelible myth, passed on from generation to generation. I believe that one day we will sing the song "Friendship Forever" with tears of happiness, just like the end of the film. Long live friendship, long live kindness, and long live justice.

Although it is a gospel movie, it is beautifully shot. God’s way of acting is really a mystery. Even if you are facing the last good man in the capitalist world, he will play you until you cry without tears... (Christmas is finally coming)

It's a Wonderful Life quotes

  • George Bailey: Rochester? Why Rochester?

  • Pa Bailey: I know it's soon to talk about it.

George Bailey: Oh, now Pop, I couldn't. I couldn't face being cooped up for the rest of my life in a shabby little office... Oh, I'm sorry Pop, I didn't mean that, but this business of nickels and dimes and spending all your life trying to figure out how to save three cents on a length of pipe... I'd go crazy. I want to do something big and something important.

Pa Bailey: You know, George, I feel that in a small way we are doing something important. Satisfying a fundamental urge. It's deep in the race for a man to want his own roof and walls and fireplace, and we're helping him get those things in our shabby little office.

George Bailey: I know, Dad. I wish I felt... But I've been hoarding pennies like a miser in order to... Most of my friends have already finished college. I just feel like if I don't get away, I'd bust.

Pa Bailey: Yes... yes... You're right son.

George Bailey: You see what I mean, don't you, Pop?

Pa Bailey: This town is no place for any man unless he's willing to crawl to Potter. You've got talent, son. I've seen it. You get yourself an education. Then get out of here.

George Bailey: Pop, you want a shock? I think you're a great guy.

[to Annie, listening through the door]

George Bailey: Oh, did you hear that, Annie?

Annie: I heard it. About time one of you lunkheads said it.
