The literal translation of the film is called "Warm Corpse", and I'm not sure which one I like better, but the two translations are very appropriate relative to the film itself. The ingenious part of this film is that it breaks the rules. Contrary to other zombie-themed movies, "Flesh and Blood" is narrated from the perspective of a zombie. The protagonist R is a zombie who can think and think a lot. Nostalgic and literary, she happened to fall in love with a human girl, and regained her freedom and self from this relationship. This kind of bridge can't be said to be new, but it is still quite bluffing.
In the worldview of this film, the relationship between zombies and humans is not black and white, and the director repeatedly emphasizes this point consciously or unintentionally throughout the film. Zombies can think, like to collect records, eat a person's brain in order to retrieve the feeling of life from his memory, forget the food they got when they meet the girl they like, and even know basic etiquette... People find it absurd, especially after watching mainstream zombie movies like "Resident Evil" and "The Walking Dead". While the film uses many long-term perspectives and dark tones to express the doomsday scene, it also uses a large section of soothing music and the inner monologue of the characters to contrast, just as in the plot, R takes Julie for a drive in the empty airport. The scene with a different approach and great contrast just makes people feel warm. So when I saw R and Julie driving the car in the rainy night, the two were relatively silent, even my old virgin felt a little sad.
But the director does not seem to be content with just making a love story that transcends taboos. The theme of love extends from the interpretation of freedom and life. Zombies can be moved by their inner hope and gain a new life. Conversely, humans can also accept They, live with each other again, although such a happy ending may not be as profound as realism, but in the wave of visual impact and grand special effects in the same type of films, they do the opposite and choose a path of heart. And it is another way to impress people without being superficial.
