'Well those two words can mean a lot of different things. You mean, the 'Princess Bride' version of true love ? Do you mean the 'Sleepless in Seattle' version of true love? Um, I would say true love means a genuine and unique connection between two unique individuals. What I think true love is not, is some shiny trophy that's the same "riding off into the sunset" image that you can get. I don't think ... if you think about true love as something that you're after, that you can have, um, you're missing it.' " (Wikipedia Wikipedia)
I feel like this is at least a sincere film; the director needs at least a little honest quality to think about love and face himself. Does possessive "love" have anything to do with love? Does exclusive "love" have anything to do with love? Are ethics and love related?
There are also some small details in the movie that move people (at least to me), such as showing that the license plate is New Jersey, and the conversation reveals an Italian family; the protagonist begins to change from fitness to playing basketball; he feels that he understands love, but theoretically he understands love best The priest did not resonate.
Of course movies are always different; it just happens that I have some resonance with this movie.
