In 1949, post-war Vienna was almost in ruins. On the surface, this big city is jointly managed by the United States, Britain, France and Russia. In fact, there are countless gang members and various black market transactions in the underground. Holly Martins (Joseph Cotton), a second-rate detective novelist in the American West, went bankrupt and came to join his old friend Harry Rhyme (Orson Welles), only to find that he had gone out of business. Dead in a car accident, Holly Martins made an unannounced visit based on the intuition of a detective writer, and it turned out to be a murder! Some people said that there was a third person at the scene who did not testify in court. Who is this mysterious person?
